say it shouldn't matter at all if you wait a week, your grain is either sterilised or its not. Observe the time frame between sterilization>full colonization instead of inoculation>full colonisation. Sometimes it takes 7 days to fully colonize grain, sometimes it takes 20 days. Waiting a week to inoculate or adding a week in colonization time is the same if you ask me
I sometimes see growers ask if it's still good idea to inoculate a week old sterilized LC solution. To me this question almost seems silly

Question about these pins.
This is my third flush
Some pins look like they're drying out before they even get started and others look like maybe they've gotten too much moisture (according to what I've been told by the fact they're white) What could the problem be and how do I fix it?

You know the way we take clones from like the fastest or biggest or whatever fruits and the way you get some weird looking fruits when youre working from MS. Well if you clone one of the weird looking ones are you likely to get a whole run of that exact same weirdness or would you get different kinds of weird? Or would you just get flushes of normal looking fruits because it just happened to be the way the clonee grew and was nothing to do with genetics?

Fruits get their appearance partly due to environmental conditions and partly due to genetics. I notice that the clones I grow increase in size as the substrate and tub increase in size.
Fruits from late flushes grow often bigger than fruits from early flushes. I've only ever grown out invitro clones from petri's in which case I couldn't have known beforehand how that fruit will look in a grain/coir tub or BRF cake.
What I've noticed is that most clones will grow how ever the fuck the environment allows them to grow Not more and not less

So genetic traits that can be copied from cloning are more likely to be, the fruit has a dark brown cap, or leucism, rather than it grew 50% bigger/faster than any of the others or it grew with the cap upside down?

Cloning clones genetics, if you put that clobe in the same environment you get the same results.

Oh, ok. Well I've been cloning some "abnormalities" recently. I haven't grown any out yet but I have a couple of quarts like 70% colonized of GT with an inside out cap so it'll be interesting to see how they turn out

Is there any reason not to case after the first flush? My subs were REALLY dry and I figure a thin casing layer should help keep the moisture up a little bit.

my shoeboxes are having a hard time maintaing moisture, I bottem watered and they drank all the water up. The subs were all shrinking alot until I bottem watered. They seem to be doing better now.
Spawned 17 days ago tho and just knots, Putero Rican MS to Grain. Spawn was clean and boxes smell just fine. Should I be worried or?

No case and my sub is really thin, just about over an inch. Did not water until I flipped the lid. I know I'm not over watering. I've read to treat thin subtrates like cakes almost. Temp is around 72-75
Another problem is I used a bought sub mix, I got my pressure cooker in the next week. Its also winter and the furnace is constantly running so dry air!! There are little spots of bruising indicating drying though.
If I dont see anything its okay I'll be starting some other stuff up here soon. Agar here we come!

Grain jars aren't fully sterile unless one pressure cooks for 24 hours. Bacteria can recover after a period of time

I've had a control jar sitting since the beginning of October and still no signs of anything growing. I'd say it'll be good for months yet.

Cloning clones genetics, if you put that clobe in the same environment you get the same results.
My APE clone culture has been putting off all sorts of different characteristics, but seems to grow at the same rate. These are the same clone, spawned at the same time, pinned and fruited together in the same environment, but have a different look about them.

The parent clone for this culture:(12 o'clock )

Yeah, thats what I don't get about cloning and I'm sort of expecting the odd ball one I cloned to just put out normal looking fruits.
