Does anyone have any experience growing cubes at around 16c (60f)?

They grow slow. Not ideal conditions, but it should work.

I believe Cubes are typically 75F +. Some other Psilocybe sp. prefer colder temps like Ps. Cyanescens, Ps. Semilanceata, Ps. Azurescens, Ps. Caerulescens(Just found some wild in sub 50F weather) and Ps. Subaruginosa that I’m aware of. Typically wood lovers I think. Still learning so maybe someone else can give more insight on Cubes in that temp range.

Looks like they did better in lower temps. Very nice @Mushboy👌🏼 Out of curiosity, was one more potent than the other?

No. Does it matter?
Honestly they were both kinda meh. Random cubes nothing fancy.

Yeah, the one you fruited at 100 was a shitty fruiter and the one you fruited at 60 was a good fruiter.

Correct. But my point doesn't have to do with performance.
My point was more along the lines of cubes can and will grow in lots of temp ranges. It's fun to mess around and see different results.

Fair but the post gives the impression that the cold temp was better for fruiting when there is no way of knowing based on 2 random grows. Just playing devil’s advocate, really.

Since we’re discussing growing temps I just thought of something. Found some more Caerulescens in my yard the other day when temps were in the mid 40’s. Was able to get a couple prints to go with the specimens I found this summer. Could it be possible they will require different growing conditions?

AFAIK, most, and maybe even all, warm fruiting mycelium can still push out fruits at 4-6°C. I've seen wild Summer oyster (20-28°C) fruiting at 7°C, outside it's season.
My Golden oyster (20-28°C) fruited at 4°C outside, when it rained. It's certainly not the same for most cold loving, cold only!

So i think my big dehydrator shit the bed, it's super packed. Turned it on about 1230am,. Checked on it this morning before work at 6am. And they were barley dried. I think i overloaded the heating element by blocking airflow. I won't be able to do anything untill about 5pm tonight. What kinda window do I have before there garbage?

If you can get any air moving over them they should be fine going for a few days but the quality won't be as good as drying quickly.

It's warm air blowing, but it's packed very dense, and they are all solid stem fatty PE. So the air is struggling to get thru the shelves. It's a 9 tray Excalibur. I was able to redistribute it to 4 trays this morning. If it was running full temp, I don't think it would be a problem.
Check pic of the day for the harvest party. Haha it's sure to entertain.

Throw them in the fridge and you should be fine for a week or more.

No one's home anymore to move them to the fridge. I'm stopping and picking up a space heater and I'll slap together a makeshift dryer for them when I get home. This morning they did shrink a lot, I just think the density is what's hurting this. I should of fridged half of them last night.

You could I guess, brew some green tea, let it fully cool, blend up the shrooms with it, cut off O2, use glass (and freeze).

I also managed to store a wild oyster sample in CaCO3 water for over 6 months. The sample was used after 6 months, not because it went bad.
