@Ferather
So the tub wasn’t starting to fruit. May have done something stupid but hopefully it works. I cut my casing layer off with the clouds, broke my original sub down and mixed it in with fresh coir. Figured it couldn’t hurt since they weren’t fruiting anyway...

So this was a pleasant surprise last night... Went to do some transfers and every one of my new plates were contaminated. Think I know why but back to the drawing board for sterile procedures.

Rye is a grain spawn, not a substrate. If you use poo in a bulk sub it needs to be pasteurized properly, you cant just bucket tek it

Anything that something grows on is considered a substrate. Agar is a substrate, coir is a substrate, grain is a substrate, etc.

I understabd that, i was just confused if he was adding poo to his grain spawn or his bulk sub as he said his sub is typically rye

I wouldbt bother. Poo is for bulk. Maybe if it's deer pellets

Hi, its been a while. Everyone ok?
Quick question
Take pin, drop on agar, take first growth to clean, let culture grow, take a wedge and put it in Grains, test, fruit.
What time frame would you be looking at for each stage

Ok, so you have a general grasp on fruiting timescales I guess. The organism will probably just transfer. It will already be capable of eating your substrate, so ultimately you just expanded it.
You may end up infecting future grows (infect the area, container, so on). The larger tub may also need GE mods near the mycelium.

General grasp yes but this was a new species for me. Couple things I feel I did wrong.
1.) Not enough substrate from the 3 jars of spawn used. 2.) Like you mentioned, not enough FAE/GE.
Anywhere I touched those “clouds” they bruised dark blue. What kind of organism are you referring to?

I’ll try to make one. Unfortunately for me and my existing cultures I won’t be able to make more agar anytime soon.
I wasn’t able to PC this batch right away. Was about 3 days after I made it. Also was rushed and didn’t let my PC come all the way down naturally.

I 'think' but don't know, it's a nitrogen fixating organism of some kind, coir isn't naturally rich enough to produce growth like that.
In my log you can see Cubensis on lightly enriched (WL-Tek) waste paper, with bushes to start with. After the mycelium adapted, it grew out much more flat, whereas yours is all bushes.
Sometimes when additional nitrogen is involved, fruiting time goes up. Also, your mycelium appears to be ignoring some areas.

Fingers crossed but it looks like the attempt to salvage my “cloud” tub may... may, work. Came home today to see some new growth and added some 1/4” holes covered with micropore tape around the sides to help with FAE. Hopefully it works out. Guess we’ll see🤞🏼. (I know the coir looks a little dry. Misted right after these pics).

I use flat joker boxes, no GE modifications needed for colonizing. They do however need a chamber, or a lid change for fruiting.

The first tray of Golden oyster was misted, and has blown over (yellow corner is light + camera). The second set is King oyster on WL-Tek + tea leaves, misted twice a day.
