My stem-butt tubs always end up contaminated.  Half the time the cyan myc wrecks house and destroys any contams in it's path.

It's some groovy lightning for sure.

Any tips on how I can improve my current dehydrator in the mean time? I suppose a different heat source?

See how those shrooms are all together in one thick layer?  That may be why it takes so long to dry.  Can you separate them out into a couple of layers?

I love my five tray Excalibur, highly recommend.  It might be worth the $200 bones to import a nine tray if you use it for other things besides just drying cubes.  I make fruit leather with mine, dry porchini and chants for winter, can even make jerkey.  The temp control is tits, gives it a wide range of tasks it can perform.

I can get a pickup full of horse poo for free off craigslist.  Check your local list to see what's out there.

Mine's fine, I called up the people and asked.  Never used it for cult though, grew some wicked veggies and cannabis.  Pan cincts came out of it.

If you put them in a bag, they will take on moisture from the air.  The only way I've found to keep them crisp is to go directly from dehydrator to mason jars.

I also leave mason jars out to warm up when I take them out of the freezer. If you open them while still cold, the moisture in the air will freeze to the inside and trap moisture in there.

Uh, everyone I know uses mason jars?  I'm not trying to pick a fight here, just sharing the best way to keep them crisp and potent.  I confess to having 2/3 of the freezer full of half gallon mason jars of azzies, cyans, and ovoids once upon a time.  It happens, but they never sit around for long.

Do you ever have moisture issues using the bags?  Do you just leave the bags in a cupboard or do they go in the freezer?

It's a European thing as far as I know

I've met a lot of people from the continent that roll nothing but spliffs.  It's how they smoke hash as well.

I have been experimenting with LC, knocking up popcorn. I've been very successful thus far. Cambodians, in pint jars 1week fully colonized. I'm always scared the LC might be contaminated. I'm considering, doing cardboard cloning tek. Inoculating with my LC. Would I be able to tell if it is viable. Maybe just transfer cardboard to my grain? Of course in sterile conditions. I'm not sure if this makes sense, or a waste of time?

Wait, hold up.  Are you doing stembutt transfers to cardboard then trying to use that in LC?

If you're not cleaning up on agar you're going to have dirty LC.

I was considering sterilizing a small piece of corrugated cardboard in a small 1/4pint jar with self sealing ports. Introduce a cc of my LC, let it colonize, then do a transfer to my grain jars. U figured if mycelium grew it was contam free? I am definitely going to research agar. Just my ignorance on agar intimidates me.

If you already have a clean LC it should go directly to grain, but you do not have a clean LC if it's from spores.  Don't add a step where one isn't needed.

You're going to have to get into agar if you want to do this hobby.  It's not difficult at all.  If you can make brownies or mac n cheese by following the directions on a box, you can do agar.
