I dunno if we are still beating this equine but I'll drop my story.

I have only tried shrooms once, and it was under medical supervision.

It was no fun at all. I felt sick most of the time, like when you drink too much and the room spins.

But it also gave me some intense introspective visions, and the experience basically cured me of one of my hang-ups. My worries just vanished! It was fascinating. FWIW I had this experience before I read or watched anything about psilocybin. I had never heard anyone else's miracle stories. I knew zero going in. So I don't think my outcome was the result of wishful thinking, or fooling myself.

I am a believer in the medicinal potential, and at the same time I am not looking forward to taking any more. It was hard work, not a fun party.

If straw works, what about grass clippings?

You could try freezing them. When you thaw them out, maybe they are mush, but it can't hurt to try.

Oh if they are already PCd yeah I would just put them in the fridge. I thought you had a pot of extra grain, not jars.

I doubt PCing twice would hurt anything.

Once I actually got a flush from my first bulk grow, I had more than enough fruit, and found that I instantly stopped fretting about how long some other grow step would take. Sure I want things done faster because it's fun to see things grow, but... A week, a day, a month... Eh, whatever!

I just saw that Coco Bliss is on sale at Amazon, about $3 per brick if you buy 10. If you buy 5 the deal is almost as good.

(Is there a better Myco-Deals thread somewhere?)

For the price difference there's nothing wrong with the tfal.

I have that Tfal and it's fine.

It always seems to read about 1/2 PSI lower than my Presto,* but these gauges are all cheap and if all of the gaskets are working right, there isn't much to go wrong with a PC. I do not take the gauge as gospel. (But I also regularly check the internal max temp of my PCs with an autoclave thermometer, so I can be SURE what is happening.)

But having used the Tfal and a Presto, here is why the Presto is better if the money doesn't matter: the Presto's pressure regulation weight is an even simpler mechanism than the Tfal's ... adjustable orifice ... and if you really want to adjust the Presto's pressure you can add weight to the jiggler. The Tfal has no such option. It's a lot quieter though, I always run my Presto in the garage because I hate the noise.

* I see now the current Tfal does not show PSI on the gauge, mine is older and does show PSI.

There is a lot of bad info out there and unfortunately, it is also the easiest info to find. @Way is right, you don't need the tent and the humidifier.

Your chances of a successful grow with an all in one bag and a spore syringe are medium to low, but to make the most of what you have you do not need any more equipment.

A while back I started a thread for vacuum sealer nerds, link in sig.

My own findings were that normal food grade plastic bags allowed a shocking amount of water to permeate within a matter of weeks. You don't notice it if you seal food like leftovers or even dry goods like rice, but cracker dry shrooms will get bendy fast.

The rate of water getting in is proportional to the surface area of the bag. So a big bag with a small amount of dried fruit shows the problem much faster than a bag that is absolutely stuffed with dried fruit, because the fatter bag distributed the invading water to more places.

BTW, I didn't vaccum seal those test bags and crunch the shrooms -- they were just snug.

If tight bags are getting loose, based on my experience vac sealing lots of other things my guess is also micro-punctures or micro-seal problems, both of which are about impossible to see even with a bubble test... But they will mess up a bag over a few days.

Just my two cents.
