Some dude on Facebook made a rig out of a piece of wire, the outside of a metal pen, and the spring from the pen... He had it rigged with the wire down the center of the pen, he somehow fashioned the spring on the end that you would hold attached to the wire... Basically it worked just like a pen that clicks open and closed... He would press it to expose the wire when he flamed it, then would retract it back into the tube.. Then he would stab an agar plate cutting out a perfect pen sized circle.., then eject that transfer into a new plate by depressing the wire down again.., dude got like 50 transfers off of one plate... Pretty neat shit.

Its an irational competition... Unless all grows came from the same proven clone then what are you actually measuring?

Upside down is great. Mold cant fly.
No it can't, but can air waft those mold spores up in there? It sure in the fuck can and will... If it couldn't then we could all just throw our SABS and hoods away and work upside down, but we dont... Because we cant... Because it does... Do one plate at a time. There is never EVER a reason to have the lids off of three things at the same time in a SAB... You only got two hands man.

Yeah because you gotta unfold the last fold on the print, swipe the swab, open the agar lid, swipe the agar, put the lid back on... Thats a bunch of movement... But you can get 3 lids loose to where they are just sitting on the plate, then swipe one, then bam go right to the next one... I'll do 3 plates per swab... There are plenty enough spores on there to do 3, and the cross contamination between each is negligible.

PeterPan said: I bought spores from a friend and they were on a q-tip sealed in a small plastic zip bag. So I made a glove box and forced distilled water through it. I sucked the water back up into a syringe and inoculated 12 jars. I spent a good bit of $ to do this and have nothing to show for it. It was my first grow and all contams. My question is... Did I do something wrong? Ive searched and it seems there isnt much info on spores on q tips other than its bad. The guy said he just drops the end of the q tip in a grow bag and has no issues.
Spores on a q-tip are best used to swab onto an agar plate.

Now that I got the hoodlessness this ms pesa plate goes in the trash after a short visit in the sab. It is amazing what little spores and dust will turn into.
