Nah, it's just that all the other jobs I've ever had were much, much worse, aside from working at my dads record store as a teenager, I'd forgotten about that. That's my actual best job I ever had I only make like $12 an hour but it's the most I've ever made at a job. I'm pretty young though and I've only had 8 or 9 jobs in my life, but they were all bullshit back breaking food service and retail jobs for minimum or less. The other benefit of this job is I can set my own schedule and work as much or as little as I want, which is helpful as I'm a full time college student.
I really hope I find a better job at some point in life. There's a few career fields I plan on exploring but I really can't say for sure that I'll enjoy any of them any more than the other jobs I've had. I've only been working for about 6 or 7 years but I'm already so sick of the fucking grind, makes me depressed that I'll likely have to spend the next 45 years or so of my life slaving away at a meaningless job

I all you shroomery peoples. I knew were all kin.
Music starts shortly after waking up, plays in the car, plays while I'm on the boat to work, plays all day at work, plays when I get home until I go to bed or put on South Park.
That's usually a minimum of 12 hours. Some weeks I get into podcasts, and music consumption goes down.
Music. Ahhhhhhh

That's pretty much my schedule exactly, only exchange car+boat with bike, and Southpark with Archer.
What's your current genre mnj? Or is it always mixed?

Just wanted to share a major conclusion in my life with you in case it helps with your decision when time comes hex;
At the end of this year I will have been working for 18 years without a break of more than a month. I've easily worked 30+ jobs, all the way from bin man to high level banking support. The first 9 years were all spent working on my feet - the next 9 were all spent sitting on my ass behind a desk in a corporate nightmare of an environment.
The latter has become a kind of living hell to me. I can feel its effects on my body, and they aint good. I swear to fuck, once I'm outa here, I hope never to work on my ass again. It might suit some people, but most people I know who do it clearly hate it, whether they're open about it or not.
Some career paths have that as an unavoidable outcome in their future. Just something to consider...

whenever I have downtime, I am almost always listening to music while posting on the shroomery, sometimes when i'm trying to wake up I get my phone and turn on some tunes, just laying there for a few minutes trying to wake up, when I make food I listen to music, sometimes when I used the restroom/shower
I think it ranges from 2-10 hours a day, 2 minimum per day

Jokeshopbeard, I've been heavy on trance and far-out psych rock lately.
I'm going to a psytrance fest and have been digging some DJ sets on SoundCloud. Trance feels like it saved my life, even though I didn't know I needed it; I've a deep connection there.
For psych rock I've been listening to my Wooden Shjips Pandora station. My favorite artists to come up on this station are, of course, my introduction to psych rock, Wooden Shjips, Brian Jones town Massacre, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Black Angels, Earthless, Moon Duo, Sun Dial, Dead Meadow, in no particular order.
And I feel you on the outdoor/indoor work dichotomy. I'm fortunate to have found a job in the hospitality industry that combines computer work, physical work, customer service, and improvisation. Its engaging, and I feel so fortunate to have an idea of the type of work I really dig. I hope we all find our niche
cheers, pubbers

The only time I listen to music is when I walk. Other than that, never. I love silence.
But because of this thread! Ima listen to some Metallica.

Fuckin' Amen to that man. There's definitely been a couple of periods in my life recently where things have got so bad that music is one of the very few things that have kept me going.
Finding Drum & Bass all over again the last few months has been like refinding my childhood sweetheart and falling in love all over again, but even deeper than the first time...

Almost 24/7. I listen throughout the day, pretty much no matter what I'm doing. I almost always have at last one ear bud in, and the rest of the time I have music playing in the background. I even listen to it as I fall asleep and it's still playing when I wake up. And when music isn't actually playing, I have one song or another in my head.
Music is my life. It flows through my blood stream. I would be crazy without it.
Music therapy keeps the people around me alive lol

I have a very eclectic interest in music. I listen to pretty much every genre. It's just that whatever mood I'm in at that particular time determines what I listen to. It changes with my mood.

Ahh, the rediscovery period, JSB. Always with more understanding the second time around.
I caught this dude at a festival. https://m.soundcloud.com/andreilien I really dug his d&b style. Have moved away from it recently, but really like the sounds and textures he uses.

Psychedelic rock gets my vote as one of the greatest things ever, right alongside funk and jazz
Just found earthless out the other day but haven't listened to a ton of them yet. Seems solid though, you are missing a lot of essential classics though:
Pink Floyd, Nektar, Camel, Yes, Caravan, and Hawkwind all come to mind in no particular order but there is a ton of stuff I am too stoned to remember
-------------------- Don't worry about me, I've got all that I need. And I'm singing my song to the sky You know how it feels, With the breeze of the sun in your eyes. Not minding that time's passing by I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free
