It's my understanding that the term exotic is just used for non cubensis spores. I've seen some vendors that don't have p or ps cyan in the exotic category. In the case of stuff like strains being a misnomer of variety, this is different. Just non US spores. Really doesn't mean anything at the end of the day. I have exotic mushrooms here, but to me they're just the mushrooms that grow outside. The specimens in this thread and stuff like serbica are exotic to me kinda thing.

Truth, knew you were the man for analysis for that one, can't really get a better description than that.

3rd image above looks like P.alutacea. Check out the mycelium and the little white dots. Must have been some horse manure under that piece of bark.
I'm entertaining myself posting these I think more than anyone else because I find them so interesting. Please bear with me or tell me to stop when I'm overdoing the rehashed photos from my gallery.

These are great shots and finds! I find Psilocybe tasmaniana especially very cool and amusing looking mushroom. Nice flying saucers you got there a couple of posts ago.

Keep them coming!

Thanks velho. Will do because its fun.
1st image big P.alutacea. Give the magnification 2 hits.
2 &3 some of the colours P.alutacea can come in. If it wasn't for the bluing the last image could pass for Deconica coprophila.

More P.tasmaniana. I wish that big flying saucer in the first image was in focus. I love the blue rims on them. Eat them and take off.

All these photos are old photos from the other thread, right? Why not just post them in one reply?

Thanks people. I didn't do them in one reply because I was going through my gallery looking at photos that looked interesting examples of those species. So as I looked and posted looking for 'x' pic to show a trait I would find others that were an example for 'y' trait in a species.

To post them all together would be a mess when I'm posting examples of 3 species with different examples from each species. Hindsight only works for some smart people knarkkorven. Luckily I'm not one of them.

It's much nicer having multiple species separated and documented here.

I agree Adden:cool:

Here's some P.papuana pics off some I found later on that were a bit dried out

The last pic I want to compare to a photo of P.aucklandiae posted in "The official New Zealand Psilocybin Mushroom Season thread 2016" p49 20th May by xthrx just to show similarity of the two species

How did you go looking out St Albans Fractaliopsybe?

I haven't been looking for the last few days because its too dry again. P.alutacea fruits after the rain. Then when its dry and the sun comes out they shrivel up after a couple of days. Looked like rain today then it cleared up.

I've been reading and following the UK Liberty cap season 2016 thread. I think I know why they don't fruit here. No one has introduced the spores. The temperatures they fruit at over there happen all over the southern parts of Australia in Autumn. Still I guess there only has to be one patch of them and millions of spores will travel.:mushroom2:
