Reishi on logs
    #23524380 - 08/09/16 09:29 AM (7 years, 5 months ago)

Hi

I decided to do a little experience of ganoderma lucidum on wood logs. the inoculation was in April and so far I think that is spreading well. however I do not know what aspect of a trunk propagated with reishi before the primordial. I know shitake on logs but what I investigated it that is very different. I often do not know what is reishi or what is a contamination.
Any one have pictures of the different stages of reishi on logs?

Looks like reishi to me, thick white mycelium that discolours with age.

Really it is quite different from any other mushroom I have incubated.

Do you know if is typical when you don't see the mycelium the color change of the log?

No. They have the bark. In the pictures you see eucalyptus logs. But I also have oak logs with reishi.
But is curios, I have the same contamination's in booth. Mostly coriolus.

Can't really comment as I have no experience with logs or and very little experience with reishi. Would love to see how this turns out.
