pinning happening on bottom of cake. What should i do?

So this is my first time growing and the mushrooms are pinning on the bottom of the cake which is set on top of a plastic tray. I have a few extra trays and was wondering if i should just cut a hole in one of the bottom of the trays and sterilize it then swap them out to allow more free growth. Then when theyre more mature i was just gonna flip and pluck them out. Just wondering if this is a good way to go or should i do something else?

Any side of the cake is the bottom if you're smart enough.

Why do you have pins in your cakes. If someone eats it they will be hurt

You arent going to get serious responces in the pub as you can already tell no doubt. Go to mushrooms cultivation or wait for a mod to move this thread there.

leave it alone they want to fruit from the bottom because that's where they decided the conditions are best. they'll grow just fine.
in the meanwhile there's this ultra powerful thing,
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/dosearch.php?where=body&tosearch=both&how=all&words=bottom+cakes+pinning&limit=25&forum=f2&showmain=1&expert=1&sort=r&way=d
I use it when I want answers right away and not have to worry and wait

no, they will find a way!

Is it safe to flip a cake over in the FC once it begins fruiting?
No, because they're likely to abort. Let them grow where they want and take measures to correct the problem on future grows, such as using the correct sized jars. With tall jars, the moisture runs to the bottom by gravity and the top dries out. RR

Ron Paul said: i like the wire mesh. If u put the on foil they will be even moister on the bottom, its just due to lack of air. You can flip them if you want or just let them grow like that, its really not a big deal.
Ignore that whole statement and don't flip them, u can put foil down np

Pastywhyte said: Cakes pin on the bottom because gravity drags the water down, pins appear where there is water. Nothing to worry about. Foil won't stop them from pinning on bottom, it will stop the mycelium from trying to colonize the perlite
