Lucid dreaming?

Have you guys personally found any huge insights about yourself via lucid dreaming?
I have been doing it on and off for a while, but I feel that everytime I keep a dream journal my dreams are just bizzare. No fluidity to them
for example, my dream last night, I found a vial of ketamine (a drug I have never actually experienced) and some mushrooms in the dumpster as me and my buddy were digging through it to find his old beatles cd's da fuq? There is absolutely no parts of my subconscious that have come out in this dream
No real relation to my waking reality. Just absolute nonsense. I was wondering if anyone here has had different results?
I mean I often hear phrases/reallizations like "X changed my life". I hear it about meditation. Yoga. Healthier diet. Quitting smoking. cutting out meat and going vegan. Going from vegan to meat eater again. quitting weed. Dropping acid
But never, in my entire life, have I heard "lucid dreaming and keeping a dream journal strongly changed my perspective on reality"
I am curious if anyone has had differing results
Meanwhile, I am going to watch inception https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inception

I had a recurring lucid dream once where I was trapped in a dungeon by usually a witch of some sort. Guess those are my deepest childhood fears. Anyways I always knew I was dreaming, and that I could do w/e I wanted but I could never break free from the spirit.
The same spirit has killed me in my dreams many times before this.
One time I was having the dream, and finally broke through the ceiling and flew away. Haven't had that bad dream since or seen the entity. Don't know what it means or how it affected me, but I was flying around what was seemingly Neverland until I awoke. Was pretty awesome.
I don't keep a dream journal, but everything I read suggests it. I'm considering it.

The hand full of lucid dreams ive had weren't really revealing or life changing, most of them were mostly nonsense, with some possible subconscious representations peppered in.
However, I've definitely had several very emotionally charged and mentally impacting dreams over the last few years, and I feel like my end goal with lucid dreaming is to become lucid during one of these very intense dreams, as they are always full of what seem to be representations of my subconscious.
I doubt a lucid dream like that would drastically change my view on reality, but I'm sure it would be extremely interesting, and possibly revealing about some aspect of myself I may not be aware of.

I've learned about the plasticity of the mind. How time is subjective, how one can experience timelessness, time dilation, practice life tasks, whilst during a time dilation experience, say one week in one night, even up to seventeen years. It did change my perspective on a fundamental level. So yes, I've found LDing to be a wonderful tool of insight, in more ways then I've described here.

There is absolutely no parts of my subconscious that have come out in this dream
Are you sure about that?
I've found that in creating a relationship with my subconscious, if you will, certainly aids in having it come out in blantent ways. Even before then, there were clues, trailheads, but it wasn't until walking down that path did I find out more.

I've found the opposite. There's an intertwined nature between all these states...waking, sleep, meditation, etc. One assists the other, in throwing a rock into one pool, the ripples move to the others, I preferred boulders though and making waves.
I've found it fun to experiment with my subconscious, then testing the information out in waking reality. Or corroborating the information which helps me work out particulars.
I don't particularly understand how your LDing is absolute nonsense, since you are the director of your experience. I know most of the population regards dreams to be incoherrent nonsense, and lding a fantasy, so it's no biggie to me if someone holds that view. It's modem aporandum really, as is the state of mind that yields such, but what if, there's more, that's a bigger question.
