Heat rating is 650,000 Scoville units. By comparison Tobasco sauce is rated at 2,140 Scoville units.

Even has a warning on the bottle to not exceed more than one drop per meal.

It ain't no fuck around shit that's for damn sure.

By the way per Google this is the hottest known hot sauce on earth, clocking in at 1.5 million Scoville units. That's insane.

Any of y'all dabble with any of these extreme hot sauces?

Never saw the point in getting extremely hot sauces. Doesn't the heat drown out the taste after a certain point? I like to be able to taste everything in the sauce while still feelin the heat. I tend to stick with habanero sauces. I'd try that stuff just to try it but I can't see myself using it in many recipes

Hot sauce man. I like it when I want, but if I don't have that craving then it just annoys me

That stuff looks like it could be pretty fun though!

I have a ghost pepper plant in my garden. Out of all my peppers it seems to grow the slowest. I just only saw its first flowers a day or two ago. I've also got a few habenaros, thai and a small forest of jalapeƱos

You any good at making hot sauce? If you are I can send you some peppers when they're done.

If anyone wants some peppers I'm sure there'll be plenty to go around.

Never tried, bud. But I appreciate the offer. That's pretty cool though (the different peppers in your garden).

I grew ghost peppers this year.

I have a bunch more too.  I'm just drying them because I don't like spicy shit and don't even know what I'm doing with most of them.  I just grew them because I think dangerous peppers are neat.  Last year I grew Trinidad scorpion peppers.

Yum!

A friend of mine grows reaper peppers, which is currently the hottest pepper in the world.  He has given me tons of ground up powder/flakes from them

I wear gloves when cooking with it.  You don't fuck around with these hot peppers

Love spicy peppers!

Fortunately capsaicin is soluble in fat and can effectively be washed off with vegetable (or other) oil.

My friend would probably like this. He puts pepper spray, which is pure capsaicin, onto his food.

What are you going to use it on OP? I was under the impression people just put a drop or two in a big pot of chili or soup or sauce or something.

According to him he can't find anything strong or spicy enough, so he uses pepper spray. I've seen him put it on a taco too. He'll be crying while eating it, but he enjoys that sensation I guess.

Out of all the time I've known that milk or anything fatty or oily works at covering up the heat, I didn't even think of it like that for some reason.

a guy I worked with brought some oil to work with a rating of 3.5 million scoville
and one rated at 7 million. I took a drop of the 3.5mil and it really didnt seem
to bad. 2 minutes goes by and I dont have a red face, I dont feel like I'm on
fire, I'm talking normally and he's just standing there in awe. I went back to my
cage and at about the 5 minute mark. that's when I feel it coming on.

my throat was burning, it wasnt terrible, no watery eyes, no red face. just the
throat and a few minutes later a bit of nausea. then the burning got more intense,
I could feel it all the way from my mouth to my stomach and it was a little hard
to breathe and my speech was a little strange, that shit was pretty fucking
serious for about 15 minutes and the heat started to fade

Reading Pris' story about that hot oil makes me realize this shit is no joke. Apparently children and pets have died from consuming peppers that hot.

I think it depends whether you cook or not with it. Sometimes I chop up jalapeƱos or habaneros and then wash my hands, and then maybe half an hour later I'll rub my eye, and stupidly realize my mistake when it starts burning my eye.

Interesting, I have had the stinging eye sensation from simply touching jalapeƱos. Especially when dropping sliced jalapeƱos in my bowl of pho, then I rub my eye and I'm like "Goddammit I can't believe I did this again."

Rubbing my eye right after touching spices seems to be a common theme with me. Maybe I rub my eye quite often and don't realize how often I'm doing it.

Dude, are u crazy?!

I used to go to a store which had a special hot sauce section that was locked up in a cage. u had to be 18 or older to buy these locked up "extreme hot sauces".

Ive done a mango haberano sauce one time in Mexico on some tacos, i thought the sweet mango would dull the hot peppers. I was very wrong. It was so hot, i actually thought i was going to die. Such an intense burn, your mind goes blank. Im a light weight for sure.

Ghoust pepper? uh uh. I know Asante would be all over that sauce up his bum. Crazy mofo.

But i do admire the challenge, of who can handle that much heat. I might try the challenge if i was in a brave enough mood....

I don't know, I was a teenager at the time and I remember Icy Hot feeling really good when I put it on my arms and legs, so I just did it out of curiosity to see what it would feel like on my vagina. It burned and hurt quite badly, not at all like the sensation anywhere else...

From habanero? Habanero isn't even that spicy...

I really love the jalapeƱo green sauce that's usually served at Mexican taco joints.

There are these Thai dried peppers that I really like. If you look at it it just looks like the little dried red and yellow peppers you would put on top of a pizza, but it is much, much spicier. I enjoy putting that on my pad kee mao in large portions.

Whatever that Thai pepper is, I prefer that kind of spice to my meals. It adds extra kick, but it's not so overly spicy that that's all you can taste. If food is too spicy, you can't taste the flavor anymore after a certain point.

Also, anybody who really loves that spicy feeling should try chewing and swallowing a raw garlic whole. It is quite spicy when it is not cooked. I used to eat dozens of them like that to do cleanses.

Habernos arent spicy??? wahaaaa.

They are very spicy, especially the little red-orange ones. Lava hot.

This one had the delayed effect of sweet mango than a slow build up of habernos....

I guessed curiosity! Whooo! :solidnod:

It's spicy, but I wouldn't call it so hot I felt like I was going to die.

Of course, I've been eating stuff like kim chi as a small child, and you know children perceive hot foods as hundreds of times spicier than adults do.

Have you ever tried eating raw garlic cloves whole?

Well, i ate a lot that day. I slathered the sauce on my tacos.

But i am real sensitive to hot sauces, and i was a teen at the time.

Now, i feel like hot isnt so hot anymore. I think i might have burned my taste buds from eating too many heat-hot foods from the microwave like burrittos and soup.

I don't think that's possible. In my culture we eat soup while it's still boiling in a clay pot. :dawerp:

Personally I think hot foods, especially fried foods, are best while super piping hot. Lukewarm just doesn't taste as good.

I diluted the Dave's with water about 1:10. You should never put hot sauce up your bum undiluted, it's usually made with vinegar and the unchecked acidity is bad for your butt. But not as bad as alcohol...

I've put beer up my butt, but yeah, I would never put high proof alcohol up my butt. I'm not fucking stupid. There's a difference between pain and dysfunction. Diluted Dave's will give you all of the former with none of the latter.

Yeah I'm part Korean. There's this spicy tofu soup that we eat called sun dubu, it comes out boiling in a clay pot and we eat it while it's still boiling. We actually crack raw eggs in the soup just before we eat it, and the heat poaches the eggs as we're eating it.

Wow holy crap!!! Apparently 2lbs online sell for $80, 2oz sells for $11 off Amazon, that's not including shipping or anything.

That's pretty good, if Burke can grow enough he can definitely make a couple hundred off it.

Well, of course you blow on the spoon before you put it in your mouth. And eventually the soup stops boiling after a minute or two of coming out, and starts cooling down. After you have eaten about a quarter of it, it has cooled down enough so you don't have to blow on it anymore. You also inhale some air while putting a hot spoon in your mouth to cool down the food at the same time you chew.

Sophie has got it on the mark. You have to understand, that refrigeration is a new concept until recently, and part of the reason a lot of cultures and societies created fermented, dried, spicy, or boiled food was to make the food safe to eat.

Well yeah I know it's good at making some food safer to eat, it's just the way I read it made it seem like the stuff is bubbling hot while you're eating it. Cooling it down right after it boiling isn't too different from how a lot of people already eat their soups so I just took it too literally I guess

It is boiling hot when you eat it. At least when it first comes out, the entire clay pot is heated over a flame or a stove, so the pot is still very hot, and that is why the soup is still boiling when it comes out for about 2 minutes or so.

You don't cool it intentionally with ice or anything, it just naturally happens after some time passes.

In my opinion spicy Thai food is much better than spicy Korean food. Spicy Indian food I'd say is around the same as spicy Korean.

If you do see it as a Korean place it will be called sun dubu or sun tofu. Make sure you get it extra spicy if you prefer spicy.

Personally, I'd prefer getting a bowl of naeng myeon or grilled karubi over that though, provided it's a place that does it right.

When I was living in CA my roommate collected hot sauce, he was half Mexican, cool dude, anyway he bought on in Reno called Toxins hot sauce.

We got really stoned and dared each other to try a little bit, shit was insanity, so hot it was disabling.

Carolina reaper is the hottest pepper in the world correct?

I would very much like some reaper genetics to add to my pepper collection, it's kind of a hobby of mine, growing peppers are fun.

I find it so interesting why humans crave and like spicy food so much. Apparently we are the only animal species that enjoys eating spicy food.

Apparently people who crave spicy foods tend to be thrill-seekers, and they will have more of a propensity for gambling and roller coasters: http://www.popsci.com/science/article/2012-12/love-spicy-food-built-your-personality

You'd better be careful Pris, your daughter may have a propensity for gambling or mind-altering substances in the future. :cookiemonster:

Or she may end up using that thrill-seeking for good things and become a successful financial advisor or CEO, or extreme sports enthusiast.

I love that sauce, I don't consider it spicy though. It's pretty similar to Sriracha which is less spicy than Tabasco, but then again she is 11.

Yeah it's oddly addicting to me.

The first drop of this Dave's stuff did get me pretty good, though. Had a REALLY sharp stomach pain like 5 minutes after doing it. And that one drop was just a damn testing the waters type drop, too.

But since that drop last night I've gotten used to it to an extent and have been using it quite a lot. I put like 4 drops in a bowl of salsa last night, and have already used a couple of nice sized drops today.

I too find it interesting

I put my fresh ground up reaper powder/flakes on everything.

I love it on my eggs.  I love it with soups and of course spaghetti sauces and chili's.  I put a bunch in my chicken Alfredo dish I made the other day.  So good.  A little goes a long way lol

I like to be tested when I eat out.  I ask them to make things as hot as they can

Same here. Like I'll almost always go for the hottest wings they got at whatever wing place we're at, and my friends look at me like I'm mentally unstable for doing so.

Idk, it's just not that hot to me. Like these fuckers will take one bite off one of those wings and act like they're about to die.

I guess I was just born with a way higher tolerance for spice level than the average person

Let it be seen that you are nothing. And in knowing that you are nothing... there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain. What can happen to you? Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not.

Yeah I think you may be on to something, joke shop -- the real extreme hot stuff will definitely give me some intoxicating sensations after the fact.

Scoville units seem a bit inflated to me
Tobasco sauce has over 2,000...
That means chicken has like 250

And chicken ain't hot at all

Fortunately capsaicin is soluble in fat and can effectively be washed off with vegetable (or other) oil.

Out of all the time I've known that milk or anything fatty or oily works at covering up the heat, I didn't even think of it like that for some reason.

I only learned it living in Albuquerque,  come Fall the whole city smells like roasting chiles, which are afterwords peeled and chopped.

@Masked
No it definitely won't help much then, vegetable oil is not exactly healthy to rinse one's eyes with (Though not especially harmful either).

Eating soup seconds after boiling isn't too far from how many people drink their coffee.

Fuckin' A, I have some Dave's and it is probably the best tasting sauce I own for how hot it is.  I have 13 bottles of hot sauce in my fridge and 9 more in my pantry, so I at least consider myself well acquainted with capsaicin.
