Casing observations

So I have been working with a clone for a while, all of the tests done were uncased on CVG in monotubs, it tested out really well so I took it to slants and began working with it primarily pulling it out fresh every couple of months or so.The only thing bad I have to say about it is once in a while I get a horrible first pin set. So I decided to work on it environmentally and see if I can tweak it's pin set, still it was here and there, then I started casing the tubs, both with peat/verm/lime and just plain CVG, both performed exactly the same except the peat gives out less flushes before going bad, so I have just been casing with coir now. Here is my observations on the casing, like clockwork every time I get a uniform pin set from wall to wall, but every time they flush out small, puney and skinny and everytime the uncased with it's ununiform and sometimes whacky pin sets wins in yield everytime, especially in density and quality of fruits.
I would love for casing to give me the pin sets I need and still give me nice fruits at the same time, it's not working with this culture! Any input on some things I might try out with casing I would definitely appreciate! Thanks guys.

Sounds like a water supply issue. Either your not providing enough water via substrate to support the pinset, or there is an oversupply and the colony is not able to move it correctly.
If it's the first problem and not enough water then you either need to get the field capacity up or use less spawn.
If it's the second problem, chances are your are making your bulk too wet, this often results in weak little fruits.
A pic of the fruits on the sub would help and spawn ratio used would help.

You may be right about spawn, I make 7-8 lb. spawn bags and use a bag per tub, its usually milo so I'm sure 1 lb. is probably well under a quart, maybe it's too much, and as far as the sub goes, I'm anal about field capacity, probably because I make sawdust bags too and too much water always fucks that shit up. I will take some pics, I am making a batch of tubs tonight, I am doing both cased and uncased so you can see how differently it performs and Im sure that will help in getting better advice as they go along. Also Pasty, Im thinking of trying a few tubs casing and fruiting at spawning, pros and cons?
