It's a yes or no question. It's not supposed to be open ended.

Should everything we say here be completely baudlerized and inoffensive? I've been repeatedly told to suck it up when people bait me in here.
Maybe baiting isn't the right word but it seems like you just admitted you were trying to be "tricky" with it. I'm not offended by your poll question, I just think it's poorly constructed if a clear answer is really what you want.
It's like asking something like this: "Do you believe http://www.theholocaustreallyhappened.com?"
If I vote "Yes" because I believe the Holocaust really happened, it kind of sounds like I endorse that (imaginary) website, which I don't. If I vote "No" because some URL and the website associated with it is not a belief of mine (even though the English sentence that URL is derived from is something I believe), it kind of sounds like I'm saying I believe the Holocaust didn't really happen.
I'm not a STAL purist but that's what I would have voted in this case, to indicate that none of the other options really capture my beliefs on the matter. If you had straightforwardly asked whether people believe the lives of black people matter, I would have voted "Yes" and not cared that there was no STAL-type option.

The comparison doesn't seem apt to me. A website represents an organization. A hashtag isn't an organization, it's just some words.

I think it's salient though a hashtag is whatever people do with it. #BlackLivesMatter could be co opted by sheep farmers overnight with no deliberate effort whatsoever if there were enough of them on twitter.

That's an entire political movement at this point. Some things really are just hashtags this isn't one of them.

Asking "do black lives matter" and "do you support the #BlackLivesMatter" movement are 2 very different questions.
Depending on the stance a No could be taken for "I don't care about black people" GWB style
And Yes could be taken for "I agree with everything the hashtag encompasses."
I'd dare to say most people here are neither. I would fall under that but even still my feelings for it still vary quite a bit from some other people here. But I have a problem with things like these. I've failed my compliance for "conflicting interests and security" test for work the last 6 times in a row because the scenarios in my mind are slightly different than the test maker imagined.

They should disband and reorganize with a clear message and get their people in line. The way the reps have behaved in big public places, aside from the TX shootings, has been embarrassing to watch.

Nobody would agree with everything a hashtag encompasses. That would include every single thing ever written that has "#BlackLivesMatter" in it-- representing both pro and anti positions, along with a shitload of shitposting, I'm sure.

Exactly, and that is why "Do you believe that #Blacklivesmatter?" isn't a very good question for a poll. It introduces an ambiguity that is not present in the related question "Do you believe that black lives matter?".
