Extremely small Purple Mystic fruits from crumbled and cased BRF cakes

Here is a tray of crumbled BRF cakes cased with peat/verm/lime PH 7.5-8 that produced some of the smallest looking fruits Ive ever seen with premature opened caps.
I'm thinking it was genetics bc it was started with MS but at the same time I feel like it could have been something else that caused it, because I left one of the PM cakes as a cake and it produced decent sized fruits. Anyways I just thought I would share.

Could be a couple things really. Probably partially genetics and partially bacteria. Both can hinder size, but it doesn't mean there aren't other factors also.
I would continue getting MS from the best caps and put to agar until you can find a good culture. Then isolate it, and grow only those genetics instead of puny genetics from multi spore.

small fruits that open caps early can also happen from over misting. cant tell if that was a problem here or not, though.

Yeah this was probably over-misted. My room was extremely dry at the time and I had no hygrometer. I had to leave town for a few weeks so I had a good friend house/cat sit and they must have went to town with the mister lol.
This is cracking me up bc they obviously didnt listen to me.

hahha, yeah it's really easy to go overboard. very fine line between over and under misting, really. not at all hard to over mist. i still do it, sometimes. but you just gotta hold back, and trust that they are probably fine =p
i can see how it would be easy for someone who doesnt regularly grow mushrooms to go way overboard.= and spray the shit outa them.
