Magic truffles, why use jar?

Hi, i have grown some truffles, I did have one in plastic box, one in a jar and one in a plastic bag. It looks like they want to grow on the outside and not in the rye? In my plastic bag i got 126gram of truffles (picture). The big ones was on the edge of the rye and the small ones was inside the rye. In my plastic box all the big one was on the top where there was some space up to the lid. I have a glass jar with some truffles inside to, but they dont look big at all. So my question is, is it best to use plastic bag or is the smaller one in glass jar stronger? I tested 2.5gram of fresh from the big one in the plastiv bag and that did have some effect :-) not much but little so next time i will try 5gram to see what that do. http://imgur.com/a/onDfs

You should use whatever you feel most comfortable with, it will not in any way effect your yields or the size of your stones. If you want bigger stones, you need to try culture work and cloning. You basically grow some stones, take the biggest one and clone that to agar. This will give you a culture more likely to give bigger stones.
Stones pressed up on the side of jars is normal and it is also said to be genetics. I read that Galidnoi/ATL#7 will tend to grow stones pressed again the glass more than other stone varieties.
2.5g fresh sclerotia is nothing, I would take a 10g dose if this is your first time trying active mushrooms. In Amsterdam, they sell them in 15g doses so 10g is actually considered as a smaller dose. This is all relative of course, some people are more effected than others but 2.5g will never get you anywhere. Even 5g seems way too little if you ask me.
Also, you should upload your pics via the shroomery, no one is going to click on an offsite link. It's not safe.

In Amsterdam I ate 15g and it was a decent but not overwhelming trip. comparable to 2.5g of cubes maybe.
I checked the mushroom dosage calc and it says 13.42g of fresh sclerotia is a level 5 trip??

It will differ from one guy to the next and even from one trip to the next. The first time I split a 15g box with my brother and it just blew us away. Very intense trip, intense enough for me to turn down this guy on a train who needed help rolling a joint. I was so fucked that my brain wasn't registering that it's perfectly legal There I was, thinking he was some kind of undercover cop or some shit. The second time I ate a whole box and I got nowhere nearly as high as the first time but the trip did last longer.
It's always a good idea to start small, but not 2.5g small.
I never really gave much thought to the potency calculator, there are too many variables at play. Even with a pre-tested culture, a trip can hit you very differently.

Yes, the shroomery deletes every bit of info pertaining to your identitiy and it also has an SSL connection(which imgur doesn't even have) which shields everyone who browses the site. Everybody uses it, most folks (me included) won't even open offsite links just because we only trust the shroomery. I reckon uploading to the shroomery is safer than using imgur anyway.

Though I completely agree, upload any photos you're sharing on the shroomery to the shroomery.

I don't ever click on any links or pictures that are external sites. The reason is the same as stated above, IP addresses can be easily tracked and recorded by external sites, and identities can be potentially determined by other hosts that don't use the security methods that the Shroomery uses with a simple WHOIS query on your visible IP address, unless you use a proxy server to mask your IP.
-------------------- Don't like researching posts? Read this! . Also, if you're new and your posts contain the words: Humidifer, incubator, air-stone, or heater, then you need to read and UTFSE before asking people to review your setup. OR... You should be cultivating reptiles and fish, not mushrooms.

Imgur aslo removes EXIF metadata like Shroomery does. One problem with Imgur is that it runs ads that may or may not log client/user data, unlike Shroomery which only runs certain ads (like sponsor ads).
I agree, it's best to use Shroomery's image hosting if possible.
IIRC the only EXIF metadata that most sites leave is rotation data so the images are oriented correctly.

Cause leaving some colonized grain in a jar is difficult? IMO people who complain about potency with truffles simply harvested them too soon. I have had some pretty damn potent truffles

Yeah, truffles can get you way out there. My first time eating truffles (years before I got interested in growing) was ~7.5g fresh dose and they literally blew me away.

Strange, I never noticed that. I don't get the SSL connection whenever I'm browsing through imgur.
