Hello shroomery community, I'm very new to mushroom cultivation and was unaware that co2 build up progressed in the incubation phase, my question is, does co2 stop mycelium growth or simply halt growth? I left my jar lids over the incubation holes am i boned or will removing the lids and letting gas exchange take place start the mycelium growth again?

Got pics? Not sure what you are calling incubation holes.
Just keep your jars on a shelf at room temp.

You know, like where you inject the spores. I used tin foil so theres wholes in the tin foil, then i had another layer of tinfoil covering the holes. So should I remove the piece of aluminum that was covering the top of the jar?

There should be zero tinfoil anywhere after inoculation. Pictures would help.

As long as you followed the tek and have a dry verm layer just leave the foil off and sit them on a shelf, try not to pick them up and move them a whole lot if you do be real careful not to disturb the dry verm layer. The foil can trap moisture dampening the dry verm allowing contams to grow through.

do you not have a lid on the jars though? sounds like he doesnt. so maybe leave the first layer of foil, which has the holes. that would be similar to leaving just the lid(with the 4 holes) on with no foil. although, if the verm filter is doing its job, you dont even need a lid, either, though..

I'm with Mupet. It sounds like you don't have lids so should probably keep the foil with the holes. Also, if your jars stalled they could be bacterial.
