What is in this syringe

Just came in today. Ordered from a reputable sponsor. This is what my APE syringe looked like. Its dated 4/16. Is that white stringy mass germinated spores? I know that ape spores are lighter in color but that looks like live mycelium to me.

Squirt it on some Agar and find out. :P

Thats the plan! Probably let it pin on agar and test a few clones. Im just up in air about buying flowhood. SAB gets the job done but is very uncomfortable when doing lots of transfers.

I feel you there, I usually fold up a couple layers of paper towels and use them as cushion so that the plastic doesn't cut into my arms. I just soak the paper towels in Iso so I know they won't contam my SAB. After the paper towels are there I honestly feel like it adds another layer of protection to the SAB, contams will stick to it and die because it's wet and it's ISO lol.

True. I just cut off the arms from a tyvek suite and tuck the ends into rubber gloves and rub down with iso. Perfect fungi has a 12x24 pre built unit for about 650 shipped.

Are you talking about a flowhood? I'd love to order myself one, but I'm not going to drop the money on it anytime soon. Maybe never honestly, I've had great luck with my SAB, and my lab is only about 8x12 feet. So iside from not having the room, it's fairly easy to control what gets in and out of my work area.

Yes. Iv had good luck with my SAB as well but this summer has been a bitch for contams. I wish I had a separate room. Current living conditions only allow for a folding table setup lol, that I have to break down and set up every time i use it. Flipping a switch on a flowhood would be much more ideal.
