600w grow light too much?

As title states, I already have a 600w HPS grow light (full spectrum) being run on 12/12 schedule for other things. I'm wanting to put my monotub under this, down low and maybe off to the side so it's not getting such direct light. I know it's a little low on the Kelvin scale (most output is in the yellow range), but being full spectrum it does output some higher frequency light as well.
Is this too much? Is it too yellow? And am I right in not letting the spawn jars get too much light already? I don't want to trigger pinning yet.

I'd more concerned about the heat it generates than the amount of light it puts out. it may dry it out.

a 600W HPS is way too much, like 100x too much.

It would be essentially 5-6 feet away vertically, and say 3 feet to the side, not directly under. I'm just trying to figure a way to utilize my existing space somehow. I could even shade it with some type of fabric.
What's generally used? Lower lumen, blue-ish tint fluorescents? I need another grow room.

A simple 45 watt 800 lumen 6500k bulb. The lower the wattage, the better, to reduce the amount of heat output. You are using a 600w. See the difference? The output of heat will be enormous, not to mention it'll start to effect your electricity bill.

yeah way overkill. And as stated above its going to seriously effect your electric bill. Thats one of the biggest attractions of growing shrooms you can do it with zero energy consumption

Still way too much.
I use a 70W MH to illuminate my entire grow room and that's for oysters which need way more light than cubes.
Yes, daylight fluros work well. One CFL is fine for a tub.

Not worried about the electric bill, I'm already running this light for plants on a 12/12 schedule. This won't change.
I guess I was trying to think of a way to setup a shielded area that might work under my existing conditions.
Not doing cubes either, have batches of oysters and galindoi coming up.

Well by all means try it, I think it will be way too much light even where you're intended to put it. I also think the heat those things radiate will cause you all sorts of problems, even if the room temperature is within acceptable parameters.
