Cakes starting to knot/pin, need advice

Guys and gals, here's the scenario:
First, I'm really excited because I think I'm about to see my first flush. A couple weeks ago I put one PF cake in a perlite chamber and nothing happened. I built a PMP about 4 days ago, and I think I'm starting to see knots on a couple of cakes (Puerto Rican)! Needless to say, I'm excited...
Here's my question:
The cakes are sitting directly on the geolite. The knots are forming very close to the geolite surface, and some even look to be pointing down into the geolite. However, there are no/very few knots on the top of the cakes. I was wondering if I should flip the cakes so that the knots are towards the top (and hopefully shrooms will grow up), or if I should just leave them as is.
PS--I credit you guys with my (cross my fingers) first success! Your help has been invaluable

Once knots start showing up, how long should pinning take? It's been about 5 days for me so far w/ knots and no signs of primordia.

They take as long as they take... usually within a week to two... you'll get pins.

Putting some damp verm on top of the cakes will usually help to form pins there.
Mushies love verm.
