I decided I'm done with the meds and the mental health treatment in my state, it's a joke. The stupid psychiatrist prescribed me trazadone for OCD lool, I'be been on and off of SSRIs since I was 10, I'm done. All the meds have done for me is make me numb and more neurotic. Idk I'm just trying to learn to cope, any suggestions? Links? Any insight is great. OCD is a bitch and so is Ssri withdrawal. I was on 150mg of Zoloft.

You need to make sure you titrate (taper) off this shit properly or you're gonna get some fucking nasty side effects man. What were you taking, what was your dose and how long since your last dose?

I've dealt with the side effects of going cold turkey before. The bastard wouldn't fill my Zoloft script, so I said fuck it. I can make it through, can't I? My dose was 150, my last dose was last week at 50mg, half a pill since that's all I had.

I'm pretty sure you can make it without lasting damage, AFAIK you'll just be dealing with shitty sides for a while. Have you had all the brain popping and shit like that?
Unfortunately, I'm no expert on the subject, and all my experience with such things comes from my partners over the years. But I've seen them go through all kinds of SSRI's & SNRI's, and the side effects that come from taking, and stopping taking such things.
Would you please do me a favour and have a read online of others experiences? I don't wanna risk giving you bad info. I just did a quick google for you, but there'll be heaps of info out there for you:

Good luck man, and please report back what you find.

Yeah the dizziness and brain zaps are there but they're quite minute compared to the other times I've gone cold turkey. I'm just sick of the bullshit, I want to learn to cope in other ways besides popping a pill. I appreciate it, I'll check it out. Hopefully when I start work Monday I'll feel better and have an income for the true medicine, Cannabis! Thank you!

Are you a cannabis user? I've been on SSRIs for a while now and I've had a few times of saying fuck it and quitting cold turkey, and smoking or eating edibles helped a lot. And personally I find L/mushies to be quite therapeutical a few times a month..... but if you're looking for a suggestion that doesn't involve these things..........I would just say be careful. You're never expecting the drop but as I'm sure you know it hits you in the face with a baseball bat when you're least expecting.
Supportive friends/family also help more than anything. Hot epsom salt baths with relaxing essential oils like clary sage and lavender. The Dr. Teals brand of epsom salt that already has the oil in it is really awesome if you can get it.
Regular "talking" therapy also helped me a lot, sometimes I just needed to talk things out and I was able to say them out loud to someone with no bias in my situation and it was nice.......
YOOOOOOGAAAAAA Seriously just like a forward fold or a couple minutes in child's pose with nice deep breaths can be so calming.
Good luck, good energy to you and yours

I hear you OP. The "professionals" I have seen are in your words a "joke". This might not make any sense but sometimes I feel like the only people doing the counseling should be folks who suffer from depression/anxiety and are effectively managing it
Really kind of the main reason I'm interested in mushrooms. Thought of doing the "microdosing" experiment by coming off my ssri and introducing small amounts of psilocybin and recording in a journal my experiences. Not really interested in taking heroic doses
