casing grain, substrate depth vs surface area.

So i've read through the back archives.. and unless i'm an asshat. i've found basically that *no-one* has done any comparisons (total flushes/flush to flush) on volume vs surface area.

Having read, and experienced, that thin casing ie 1.5" gives smaller fruits, and that deeper casings give thicker fruits and more flushes, what I am wondering is this. : has anyone done any isolated substrain comparisons casing the same VOLUME of substrate using the same depth of CASING mix but varying the size of the container.

I think it would be interesting to see the results of the same clone cased in this fashion and see what the total yeild is.

Part of me is screaming that there are too many variables for this to matter at all. and that I should just stfu.

anyone have any thoughts?
