    #23513227 - 08/05/16 03:26 PM (7 years, 5 months ago)

Looks good, its been 6 days of incubation, stir bar mantain at 200rpm, and did vortex effect(stirrer at max) for 3min everyday for oxygen.

I will inoculate some petri dishes and grain on 07/08/16

Medium was prepared with 5ml of karo honey on 300ml of water.
Was 20min on steriliser at 15psi and each Triforest Boston media round blottle was inoculated with 150ml of blended mycelium from a clean petri dish culture on my eberbach waring blender.

Ive read that lot of you guys use a needle to pull out the mycelium but if its well distributed on the medium, can I just pour it on plates and mycobags...

check out mushroom adventures on youtube, if I remember correctly he uses LC in jars to inoculate his sawdust. I dont use it myself but i'm thinking of trying it out, will keep notes on this!

When I say mycobag was refering on spawn substrate but sounds really interesting about LC directly to SSD.

You can definitely pour that into bags, I used to talk a lot of shit on LI and LC but I had recently lost a huge batch of spawn and couldn't afford to order a batch to catch up, so I made an LI using a clean agar plates and a diy eberbach I made from just an Oster blender and quart jar, what I did though is blended and then poured my bags right away, within 48 hours all of the bags had recovered and took off like a bat out of hell, this was about 3 days ago and it looks like they will be finished this weekend.

Speaking of the mushroom adventures guy, I noticed he puts coffee into his grains and attributes his quick colonization time to that, in the next day or two I am going to do a little experiment myself based off of that, I am going to brew a cup of fresh coffee and then put that in my DIY eberbach and sterilize it, then blend a dish in it and inoculate a bag with it.
I hate doing things fast, but I am just doing this to come up with an emergency fast technique that I can use if I lose a bunch of spawn again.

He showed some sawdust bags he poured LC into to experiment, and they didn't do well. I believe he makes a LI/LC for spawn similar to stamets in GGMM, except without the  eberbach or stir bars.

Hey pichardo I use media bottles like that too, except they are made by pyrex, I love them for the pour, so for pouring LC they should be absolutely perfect.

haha, Im a coffee snob, I have only bought instant once in my life and it was on tour with my band for emergencies only! Yeah, no coffee is a fucking emergency
I think he said you can make your own coffee too, I dont know if there would be much of a difference, I know instant coffee is super acidy, from taste at least.

Do mean light corn syrup Karo brand?  I like how crystal clear your media is and want to switch. Malt extract and dextrose is amber and always has sediment for me.

Just curious as to the use of liquid medium?  Seems messy and prone to harboring funk.  Why not g2g and continually expand myc?  Even using high spawn ratios I'm always playing catch up to the spawn.

Yea there is almost absolutely no need for LC in mushroom cultivation, unless your doing crazy amounts of bags. 2-3 lbs of spawn can g2g into a few bags and make 50 lbs of spawn in one week easily.

I have made a lot of demand on the product by the chefs, need to produce a lot.
I have right now 7 spawn mycobags, 6 I will use for straw and the other one I will use for G2G.
I need to mantain my production so I need to inoculate a lot of bulk substrate with my G2G mycelium.

I have a great clean room and Im trying to take advantage of it, with LC I could make a lot of spawn masters in just one week, so Im looking forward to it.
