    #23512608 - 08/05/16 12:15 PM (7 years, 5 months ago)

Okay so i took a tissue sample from a wild pluteus specimen. I have growth now but is it mycelium?

Sorry about the quality.
The picture on the right has growth that looks clear and really thin

Tomentose pluteus? It just looks like pluteus mycelium. This is the wrong forum for edibles though. This section is only for actives

Hardly. But if you're just saying most people will assume oysters if you don't specify.

Hardly any actives in that group and hardly active at all are the ones you find. And I thought you were just getting pluteus mixed with oysters name in the first post since you didn't specify much

Stamets lists 4 species under Pluteus as actives; P. cyanopus, P. glaucus, P. salicinus, and P. villosus in "Psilocybe Mushrooms of the World."  I have found P. americanus stated in other listings as being active as well.

Back to my original post. So i know uts mycelium now.
Do i just do tranfers until its clean like i would do with cubes or anything else? From there should i spawn to sawdust or what

Even if they are weak i want to try to grow them. Its a learning experience and i havnt found where anyone else has done it.

That could be why you're not finding info, nobody's growing them.  Even in Stamets, he only gives data for P. salicinus and P. glaucus, both at 0.28% psilocybin and 0.12% psilocin.

Not trying to be a dick, but does anyone have any actual advice?

I dont care what percentages they are or anything like that. This is about acquiring more knowledge.

I guess if it helps think of it as a novelty grow attempt.

Thank you.

What sub would you suggest? I was thinking sawdust.

Im not very familiar with growing woodlovers so ive been reading up on it. Do you think sawdust would work or should i go to woodchips? Im asking because as i said im not familiar with woodlovers and tou seem to have a decent amount of knowledge.

Trying to learn from those more experienced than me.

or you could go to grains first then wood. if you go straight to wood I would make a LI or LC with a clean agar wedge
