Question on storing inoculated jars.

- First time noob here. - I inoculated 10 jars (250 ml) 4 days ago. Temporarily kept them in my Cabinet above my fridge.
I just moved said jars into a plastic tub, lid snapped shut, with a little desk lamp in there aimed at the jars (soft white bulb). *I cut a small hole in the tub for the cord to fit through so I can just unplug it whenever*
I wrapped the closed plastic tub in a blanket then, to create better heat / humidity. I'm gunna keep the lamp on for 12 hours a day to simulate a light cycle (as members here suggest).
Any concerns / problems with this method of storing until birthing?
Do spores need to "breathe" while colonizing?

Yes you need some gas exchange. Not a lot but some. Just put them on a shelf. You are really over thinking this.

I have 4 Roomates lol. They don't mind but I can't have them out in the open due to the many people in and out of our house :/ believe me, I just wanna put em on a shelf haha. Plus the AC is always on so my House is typically 60-65 degrees..isn't that not ideal?

This.
I grew up in the days of colonizing in complete darkness in an incubator blah blah blah also. until I came to the Shroomery and learned that we learned a thing or two about mushrooms over the years. It's all complete bullshit. Colonize on a shelf somewhere that gets ambient room lighting and 70-75 F.

You keep your house at 60 degrees with AC? I'm canadian and that's pretty damn chilly for my tastes. I would hate to see your power bill. They can still colonize at that temp but it will be slower. Keeping them in a tote is fine but don't have it sealed shut.

My 4 Roomates love it cold T-T haha. Thanks for the answer though! So maybe just keep the lid propped open, and keep the blanket just tossed on top so there's some airflow?

60-65F???!!!>>>
Sweet jesus thats cold.
We keep AC at 71/72, and some people comment its too cold.
Anyway, just find a top shelf in a cabinet and stick them in there. Or top shelf of you closet, next to all of the sweaters you must need to keep warm in you 60 degree house.
You don't have to put them on a bookshelf. IMHO light is not needed for a colonzing BRF jar.
