Point is - how many, even on this forum, are out actively hunting for these species? I mean, most people tend to hunt for the more common psychoactive species.
They do. But people often find other mushrooms other than what they are intentionally looking for. We see it all the time... And when inexperienced people look for liberty caps in the same habitat where we have found our active Pholiotinas, we should have seen them. The mushrooms we identify in the ID-threads in a way correlates to how common different species is, except with a higher percentage of mushrooms sharing actual similarity with liberty caps like pan paps, foes and coprinoids). But we also get to see some Entoloma, Marasmius, Hygrocybe and Conocybe... but where is the Pholiotinas if they are common? ... The lack of this makes me think they are rare, even if I agree that the size make them very easy to miss, and that people who pick liberty caps often don't give a crap about all the other little brown mushrooms, therefore not reporting it.

Luckily I know my way around the yard.

Also found these two.

Yea I guess there are still some unresolved puzzles about this mushroom. Maybe some people who've possibly found it, missed the blueing for some reason and therefore missed what they may had found. I accidentally dropped the stem on my first find, but luckily got to see the blueing before it. Perhaps I wouldn't have started paying that much attention to these mushrooms if I had missed the blueing. But it sure is a magical moment to see because it happens instantaneously.

This is the last picture of them twins. Think I'm harvesting them tonight, as they're showing signs of going past their prime.

The fruits from two years ago were longer lasting than on my current yard, which is more moist so that could've something to do with it. The old yard had more dry and sandy soil.

Extras.

It's been raining quite a lot lately, but the weather is getting a bit warmer now so hopefully some more lawn magic coming up.

Sorry for being stupid, but I fear them no more. Not at all. Been in a weird place in life for a while and I don't know what got into me. I know, so bare me with the unnecessary.
Anyhow, I didn't get sick, didn't die (knock knock), didn't get any nausea, no bad vibes at all! It was very pleasurable experience overall. Tasted like dry semilanceatas. No regrets, they helped me. Atleast got rid of one fear.

You took the great leap! How much did you consume?

His finds are from last year, so a bit late I suppose.

Yea I did, they just started calling me and I stared at them for an hour. I took about a gram which was enough for me since I don't enjoy godly doses anymore, but if I'll get a chance to consume them again in the future, I'll take a bit more. I found them to be pretty potent anyway and overall it was very very pleasant experience. Way less nausea than in any other active mushrooms I've consumed before and no semilanceata-mindfuck as they usually tend to be for me. Great afterflow buzz for a couple of days.
It helped a lot to see the lifecycle of this little mushroom and I collected only the blueing ones. Also crap loads of other Conocybe and Pholiotina species fruiting on my yard helped too for the live comparison. But yea, I'm quite confident with this mushroom now and it surely is active. Really excited for the upcoming season to study this mushroom a bit more and hoping the season to last a little longer than last year. Well, that is if they appear this year.
And yea I'll post my cinctulus finds in that thread, if they appear this year. Guess we'll see that in 3-4 months.
