Looking at this following wildfire map from BBC it appears he's either just slipped between or is in the middle of it:

I hope he's safe.

Hey Heyowana,
Just wanted to thankyou for all of this .
I have just recently started hunting but originally I read the psilocybin mushroom bible by Virginia haze and Dr K Mandrake . This was an excellent read for a novice I’ve actually read 3 times I gotta do this to understand . Going off topic so I’m on the central coast and found a few p alutecea off some horse shit but kept walking as I was silly and had not researched all 3 contained in these posts... big mistake I was looking for p.subs . I actually went through each post and have read the 44 pages I’ve observed nearly all images! There wasn’t much I could find myself on these 3 species so your guide has been so good thankyou thankyou ! It was pretty amusing along the way your story about eating the non active reminds me of my best friend too funny! If you ever come back down this way let us know
Hope your well legend

Eatn: I hope you have seen his other thread where it all started, with lots more photos of P. alutecea and the road to getting it properly identified:

Heyowana: Nice to see that you are still around.

Wow, well done Viridis420, the species likes to grow in those tight clusters.

Thanks Inksi ! Also Heyowana for providing the spores!

Slow to develop but still growing.

Rather than spawning grain to the straw mix like this time I have a 1/2 gallon jar of the mix sterilized it is consuming happily. Once that finishes I'll birth and case with soil see how it compares when left to consolidate longer

Hey guys. I didn't know this thread was still going. All the best for the coming season where ever you live.

The recent drought last year took its toll on the mushroom species around last season. Only found papuana and sect.Zapotecorum during summer. Autumn just subs and alutacea.A couple of bunches of tasmaniana popped up.

Found another ovoid beginning of April. Covered it with a shade cloth frame to stop it drying out in the climate where I live. It dropped spores for three weeks!

So after that I made a wood pile in situ. See what happens later on.

Thanks for your concern during the bushfire disaster last year. My life was turned upside down for a while.

Not sure what we're calling this species you found here

I've been attempting this one in outdoor containers and patches mostly. I had some left over coir/vermic remaining so I birthed some millet spawn to mixed it all around and set to fruit. Took about a month to see pins but they are coming up nicely

Thanks again for the spores !!

Hypholoma. If that's my pic. It had yellow staining on the purple/brown spore print.

Thanks and good luck with those papuana cultures. Both you and Inski are the mushroom cultivators to emulate. Hope others can get papuana to fruit as well.

Howdy. Long time no see. How's things shaping up in PNW. Guess you'd score pretty good rainfall. Your in Washington state from memory.

Still too dry here. The storm rain isn't wetting the overdry ground sufficiently for fungi ATM.

I was thinking those Hypholoma spores looked more purple black to the naked eye on those weird mushrooms I consumed years ago.

Inski just had a dried specimen to study. The spore prints I posted looked more purple brown in the photo. Yellow staining was hard to see as well in the photo.Where as to the naked eye it was all around the edges from memory.

Hmm yeah not sure what it is here then. The prints you sent were labeled papuana, tasmaniana, alutacea and then this one which was an unknown species which I thought was the wild pix I posted above.

Here are more pix of the unknown labeled print from you. These are quite small not sure they are going to print but they definitely are active.

The green monster has shown up in this tub as well. Cool thing about these though they are growing on straight coir/vermic.

I have sect.zap starting to pin at the moment. With some luck I can post some comparison shots. I think this is the species in Viridis420's pics. They don't look quite right for P.alutacea to me. A 1 month time frame for fruiting is more inline with sect.zap. I sent some prints of this species to someone a while back which then found it's way to Jakeoncid and he fruited them. Here's the link to his grow

Hey Bob how's things going in SA. Viridis received from me labelled- P.alutacea, tasmaniana, papuana, papuana gold pheno- which was sect.Zapotecorum. Later on I sent him more labelled papuana and sect.Zapotecorum.

The ones in the pics look like alutacea. Except he has already fruited those. So I'd guess sect Zapotecorum.

Good to hear you have some sect.Zap. pinning. Hope they fruit well for you.
