Hmm I guess I never paid attention that Psilocybe alutacea was in Semilanceatae (Guzman). Interesting.

How do the genetics of tasmaniana, alutacea, papuana and subaeruginosa compare? Anyone know? Or where I can find that information?

It's awesome that you're still investigating these. we can't thank you enough really! I literally dream about finding exotic Psilocybes in Australia. You're keeping the dream alive!

ent, if I'm not mistaken, I believe the term "exotic" refers to any active mushroom species that IS NOT Psilocybe cubensis.
So technically, Psilocybe subaeruginosa would fall under the category "exotic".
Because any active species that IS NOT Psilocybe cubensis would fall under the category "exotic".
I'm not 100% sure, but I'm fairly certain Adden would know for sure though. Can you confirm or dismiss this for us Adden?
You have found Psilocybe subaeruginosa, ent.
So technically, you have found an "exotic" species.

It's my understanding that the term exotic is just used for non cubensis spores. I've seen some vendors that don't have p or ps cyan in the exotic category. In the case of stuff like strains being a misnomer of variety, this is different. Just non US spores. Really doesn't mean anything at the end of the day. I have exotic mushrooms here, but to me they're just the mushrooms that grow outside. The specimens in this thread and stuff like serbica are exotic to me kinda thing.

Some of the comparisons you are looking for can be found in Alan's tree here. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23190796#23190796

Thank you.
There's an azurescens / cyanscens species in WA. I think it's a new species or very close to one. I haven't seen mature specimens. This is also where mycena pseudocyanscens grows off grass. I'd like to get both sequenced and figured out. It's some sort of weird Psilocybe that grows with 4 other Psilocybes. It's really the main reason I'm so pumped for our season.

Some pics of P.alutacea after picking. Guess its becoming clear Hashed that I'm not a fan of harvested mushroom pics. That's why I don't post pics of them because I rarely take them.
