P.papuana a lot of these are of the same bunch taken over about eleven days.

That's it for now. I'll be checking dark places near where they are growing now. The quality of fruit bodies seems better in the really dark wet places.

Thanks. The fruit bodies are quite large in shady spots. I've found specimens. Old ones that were three inches across the cap. The frosts have maybe put an end to the season.

Scored 10mm of rain two days ago. Found two little P.papuana fruiting where they were growing at the Winter solstice. No sign of them at the other spots but I'll keep looking over the next few days.

Hey thanks. Guess I should rename this thread P.papuana. I've lost interest in the other species this thread is about. Haven't seen any P.tasmaniana for months. P.alutacea is fruiting next door after rain.
I'm intrigued by the mystery that is P.papuana. They are hellishly hard to find. I can be standing right over them and take ages to recognise them. Their effect is stronger than the P.subaeruginosa around here. Dried I'm not sure because P.subaeruginosa keeps very well potency wise when dried.
It would be interesting to compare their effects with P.aucklandiae. Subs can scare me if I eat the little ones here that have just broken open the veil. Dosage anything over 30 grams fresh can do it for me. P.papuana I can get even more fucked up with 20 grams fresh.
With subs the voice of the mushrooms is always berating me. With P.papuana it is caring and helpful. P.tasmaniana, alutacea and pelliculosa I've never been out of it enough to even get to that voice. Copelandia cyanescens and P.cubensis sure but once again it's not pleasant. I'm rambling on a bit but this does interest me a lot.
Probably different for everyone but I'm understandingly far from certain that it is. I've met a lot of people over the years that have no time for cubes, meanies and subs. Is it just psilocybin or is there a whole lot more to it?
The mushrooms I picked at Topaz that I think were liberty caps had a much stronger effect than P.tasmaniana, alutacea and pelliculosa. Yet I can say all 4 species had a good deal of euphoria that is generally lacking for me on subs, meanies and goldtops. Looks wise and effects wise I can see how those 4 species are related.
P.papuana is different to every other mushroom I've tried. I don't think their potency would be for everyone who eats mushrooms. Pity people like Dr Sub etc aren't here still to speak about P.papuana. I'd love to get some feedback from anyone who has tried them.

That looks amazing! I assume the pumice is for aeration, the clay for micronutrients and the peat the substrate proper? How long to get to this stage and are you in Australia?

The pumice is for drainage, the peat is for moisture retention and the clay is the main constituent of the substrate, this species is a clay lover or more correctly, terricolous. I'm not entirely sure but maybe about 6-8 months from agar cultures to fruiting.
