Very nice photos! The season is back for sure.

P.papuana is stupidly potent. I had to drive into town. Look at my car and a tyre is flat. This 4-5 hours after I took them. The trouble I had just to change it. I couldn't think
Sounds like you shouldn't drive if you are tripping that hard... I know you live out in the bush and you don't meet many other drivers on the roads, but what if you took a wrong turn and got lost, or perhaps got attacked by mammoths or chased by UFO:s?

Hah wow, At least it wasn't during peak tripping!
Then again, I've done it a few times in Sydney plus MDMA. :/ Good thing was I didn't drink those nights!
On the farm though... I did Drunk drive a few times and I disliked my self a bit. Was strange to be more paranoid about the alcohol and getting busted 20km out of the closest small town.
Never was a far drive though, just to and back from the neighbours farm which is less than 1km... ------ Why are you paranoid bro? Plus you keep saying bye for a while and see you round..?
If it's concerning how we post a heap of pictures... Trust me I know the feeling!

Hi knarkkorven it's a pleasure to see you around. I had the P.tasmaniana last night. They were mild but very soothing for mushrooms. Few intense moments that were a bit fleeting.
I am paranoid on that small micro dose of P.papuana Fractal. They hit too hard for such a low dosage and had me wondering what's going on.
Had a look today during this heat wave. Not much to report.
First 2 images P.papuana. 3&4 P.tasmaniana.

Substrate looks lush. I have no concept of your seasons compared to the PNW. As far as that goes. Were actually having a Cold Winter. Winter is usually mild, well above freezing. The ground and standing water, has been frozen for 3 weeks now.

We are having the hottest Summer on the east coast of NSW. Temperatures are climbing up to 40 C that's about 102 F. In the lowlands its even hotter.
I was wondering if P.papuana would fruit in Summer because Alan Rockefeller finds mushrooms in the same section in Summer. That's in Veracruz Mexico, Section Cordisporae.
Last year we had hot weather even into April when P.subaeruginosa starts fruiting. Similar time climate wise to when P.cyanescens starts fruiting for you. Having first found P.papuana late April when the weather started to cool down. I thought they were going to fruit into Winter. They didn't however.
So its looking now that if they have a season it goes from the middle of Summer - January to the end of Autumn - May. They might be like P.tasmaniana and just fruit when ever it rains though. Its up to me to document the seasonal observations. Its also fun to do so.

There are two different types of morphology. First like those ones in the last photo - more fleshy stem with a conical to hemispherical cap that becomes flattened with age. Second type with a thin stem and cap like a liberty cap in shape. Second type the cap does not flatten with age but retains liberty cap shape.
Inski examined the spores off both types last year and confirmed they are the same species.

These two images are from last year. If you look at the bottom left hand corner of the habitat shot. These are the mushrooms growing there in the next image.
P.papuana specimens from today are approximately growing where the mushrooms in the second image were last year. Since then a bandicoot has done some excavation work on the site.

Thank you very much. It's sprinkling today. Looking like perfect conditions to go for a wander. After tasting the latest P.papuana I'd nickname them mountain meanies. Just in jest. They have that super strong tangy flavour that good Copelandia cyanescens have. Potency is up there as well.

Same here. Trying to work out where they grow. Their high is very long lasting even on a small dose.
Some P.tasmaniana.

I'd rather have these P.papuana Fractal. They render P.tasmaniana obsolete for me. Along with everything else I've tried. I love the colours this species can get on its cap as well. Under magnification there are purples and green shades. They hide that well so I don't know if they are common here or not.
They are hidden mostly in the darkest places at the foot of shrubs in amongst the leaves. Fun to hunt for.
I took four photos of that P.tasmaniana specimen that is out of focus knarkkorven. That was the clearest but it is still out of focus. Instead of leaving it out I included it knowing it was poor quality.
