Mainly New England Blackbutt. They don't use them for timber much here. So the saw dust is composed of Tallow wood and Blue gum. All Eucalypts. The soil is red clayey with lots of mudstone? broken up in it.

P.papuana were coming up in fairly shaded areas close to the Tallow wood logs.

Ive been re reading your other thread. The similarities of the mushroom in question I found, and your P tasmaniana are very evident. Even the clay substrate with grass and sawdust/wood flakes chopped in.
P tasmaniana
Mushroom in Question/unknown Psilocybe (PNW)

The pictures joust took, really shows some similarities.

I am not trying to hijack your thread. Just making an observation.  It is a small world.

I appreciate your input NothingsChanged. Thanks for your confirmation. When Hashed AKA whatever said it I thought no way. Come Christmas time looking through your thread about them I could really see the resemblance.

Hope Joust comes through soon with the research about them.:mushroom2:

Had another look back at the log dump. There were dried out specimens of P.papuana no more than a foot away from the first little trio I found.

I believe he has been working on them? The above P pap stems seem to stay really white when the rest is dried and knarly.

This is how they are before I lift the leaves off to take a pic. So most of the stem stays under the leaves. Not being exposed to the elements and being closer to the mycelium that part of the stem retains moisture better.

Hard to find because of this. All I see is a black looking cap on a background of leaves. They look like something else until I'm very close to them. Part of the fun.:mushroom2:

I hadn't looked at the bulldozed drain where the P.tasmaniana grow in a few days.

Fair bit has been happening.

Fun weekend.:mushroom2:Could you imagine a patch of these a meter squared? Nothing here when I walked by a couple of days ago or maybe three days. The Summer sun has scorched them a bit.

Plus its been dry until this afternoon. My Roma and Grosse Lisse tomato plants were wilting. More rain please. Hope more little tasmanianas are on their way.

Scored about an inch of much needed storm rain yesterday arvo and last night.

I'll give it another few days and check back on this spot. Meanwhile P.papuana should start fruiting again. They'll take longer after this rain to get going but I'll check that spot over the next couple of days for any stragglers I have missed.

P.tasmaniana- 1st image bunch one. 2nd bunch two. 3rd first bunch and 4th both together.

Psilocybe papuana has got to be stronger than anything I've tried. Those four little ones were so bitter. They are so bloody good. Bye for a while. Maybe I'm just paranoid but....... See you all around sometime:mushroom2::heart:

Aw thanks NothingsChanged you make me feel special:heart:

Same here until yesterday gamminEYE. Its pouring tonight. Thanks Bunya.

P.papuana is stupidly potent. I had to drive into town. Look at my car and a tyre is flat. This 4-5 hours after I took them. The trouble I had just to change it. I couldn't think. I was telling myself aloud what to do next then forgetting what I'm doing.

Psilocybin percentage must be super high because weight for weight they should have done next to nothing.

P.tasmaniana tonight showing hygrophanous nature.
