SW TN find, a solitary one

found this where grass meets a walking trail, have found several of the same at different locations on the trail, definitely chocolate brown gills, and blackening in the sun, but not really bruising when I touch it, more like yellow... I've picked Cubes before and the blackening and the gills made me take the pictures...SW TN locale.. thoughts?

looks like Agaricus sp.
Psilocybe cubensis would be growing in cow pastures on or near cow dung

If youre picking wild fruit and it doesnt bruise or bruises some color other than blue, it's not a cube. Cubes bruise blue. Unless there is evidence to suggest otherwise, but this is not the case.

I agree with your assessment hodor, but the blackening on the sides of the mushroom before I picked it threw me off... and I mentioned cubes cuz that's really all I've picked in the past, my only point of reference

Same here. They look similar. I only learned about agaricus in here after incorrectly suggesting a fruit was a cube, when it turned out to be an agaricus.
