Mycelium growth..

I've been noticing when I goto spray my cakes that there is a decent amount of mycelium growing on the cakes still, in some places ito looks to be growing over the verm. I've been spraying 2-3 times a day... trying not to do it on schedule, but it's hard not to with my routine as it is. Being that this is my first grow, I'm completely inexperienced on what to expect.. I'm wondering tho if they're getting too much water? The humidity is high in the SGFC, resting around 99%. The growth I'm seeing could potentially be pinning if the cakes had the chance to dry enough to promote the pinning process, right? I could be completely wrong, just my guess.. maybe I'm being impatient.
Thanks in advance for replies.. everyone that posts here is of huge help!

Pic?
Also if you humidity is that high, I can almost guarantee you arent giving them enough fresh air. Are you fanning? Did you build your SGFC to RRs tek specs?

Did you consolidate the cakes before birthing them?

Could be Storma. Which should be OK.
Does it look like this.. the two cakes on extreme right have massive overgrowth of Myc on them if you observe.

That's not stroma IMO. Looks like bacteria.

I'll post pictures after I get home tonight. And yes the SGFC is built to specs. 1/4" holes, every 2", on all sides, including the bottom/top. No, I have not been fanning, I'm just spraying 2-3 times a day. I'm not home very often as I work a lot of hours. They're stored in a closet so airflow is minimal.. could I put a small fan in there and set a timer on it, just for the production of some airflow?

Okay, here's a pic.. Also, I've noticed that the amount of verm on my cakes doesn't seem to be as much as others I'm seeing... should I apply more to them? If so, should I just follow the same procedure as I did initially (dunk and roll) or is it too late for that? And yeah, the humidity... I could put a small fan in the closet to create some airflow... ideas/suggestions?

Get them out the closet whats the point in drilling holes for air flow then chucking it in a closet thats why you have a lack of air flow at least open the doors

Where are the holes in that SGFC? I don't see any in the pic.

I understand that, and trust me, I would happily take them out of the closet if I could. Too many potential situations for disaster if I leave them out.... Unbeknownst to everyone else who's living in my house, I am attempting to grow mushrooms...

The holes are there.. just slightly above the picture line. As I said, 1/4 inch holes, every 2 inches... all six sides.

I must have missed that part somehow.

agreed, growing in a place where others live, and trying to keep it from them is a terrible idea.. better off just to wait until you are in a better spot, either by yourself, or with someone who wouldnt mind.. as it is now, you could either get fucked or the people you live with could potentially get fucked as well. just an overall silly idea.
good luck, though..
like was said, if you cant even leave the closet door open, then there isnt going to be enough FAE for them. but, you will still likely get fruits, they just might not be pretty, and yield will probably be affected.. could also have bacterial/mold problems in low FAE environments.

Yep, nobody here is going to condone endangering others by growing in their living space without their consent. If they do, they won't also be someone you should take advice from, those things are mutually exclusive.

I'm not necessarily worried about something bad happening. It's definitely not a situation where someone will be like "oh shit call the authorities".. It's just a little questionable is all. I'm going to attempt to take them out and put them on a table....

Okay, all setup outside of the closet... on a small table and ready to go. My only concern now is the air conditioning. It's fucking hot in the upper east side of the US right now. It the air conditioning going to cause any disruptions?

no, AC is fine. that setup is going to be better than the closet, but if possible, try to get it at least a foot from all walls/obstructions, as well. and try to elevate it at least 4in from the table. use some jars or something, instead of those books.
oh and get rid off the hygrometer.. it's only going to confuse you. the only place the humidity really matters is on the cake's surface, which that hygrometer cannot measure. a fluctuating humidity is actually beneficial, over a constant high humidity, anyways. all you need is your eyes. when the cakes look dry, mist until there are tiny beads of moisture. then let that dry, and when the beads are gone, it's time to mist again.
and group your cakes in the center. do all of this, and your setup with be pretty perfect

Awesome... that's a relief to hear. About to take care of all those little details and patiently wait for the pins to start. Thanks so much for the help.

Lol... I'm not worried about my "parents" finding it. Just curious housemates... it's really not THAT serious. Just something I would have preferred to keep under wraps.
