Pressure cooking

Hi all. When using the pressure cooker and the cooker starts whistling are you supposed to turn the heat down

Yes, turn the heat down once it reaches pressure so it's gently rocking, releasing just a little steam.

Thanks weetsie. I actually dont have a gauge on my cooker it just has a single line for the lower and a double line for higher. I believe the higher is 14 psi

You don't even need a gauge, a 15psi weight will rock at 15psi.

heat until both lines are up. then turn down heat and keep it coocking for 2 hours.
