Millenials have less sex than previous generations did at their age 2

While a decline in sexual activity is not in and of itself a problem, it may be symptomatic of a problem. What, then, is the cause of the decline in sexual activity, and is it a problem?
Is pornography to blame? Are people simply to lazy to pursue sex because they're satisfied with masturbating? Or is it more complicated than that? Have young people become more insecure about themselves because of pop-culture glamorization of extreme ideal forms of masculinity and femininity, and thus less likely to pursue sex? Have peoples' standards for both themselves and others become unrealistic because of these popculture portrayals of ideal forms of masculinity and femininity?
Men are told that this is what sexy looks like:

Likewise, women are told that this is what sexy looks like:
Quote:

Is it any wonder if young men and women either feel that they don't measure up, or that the potential matches don't meet their standards?
Have people become more afraid to have sex than they formerly were because of diseases or the potential burden of child support payments (in the case of men), or shaming from their peers and family (in the case of women)?
Is young peoples' behavior driven by false perceptions about the opposite gender, perpetuated by cultural myths and reinforced by an inner dialogue of self-justification?
I think it's a combination of the these factors, and possibly others.
To what ends are we speculating? It depends on the kind of question. Sometimes we speculate about systemic problems that appear to have systematic solutions and therefore seek legislative answers. Other times we speculate about systemic problems that don't appear to have systematic solutions and therefore seek personal answers. If, for example, it turns out that there exists a state of systemic insecurity associated with unrealistic standards for oneself and others, the answer would appear to be to reject those standards that give rise to that insecurity.

Can't identify with this article.
--------------------
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Psalm 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

I haven't had sex for 1.5 years. The last one was a beached whale that didn't have tits or ass either.
Damn close to a 400 pounder too

There's more mentally ill people than ever before, people being treated, not being treated. You're not really interested in having sex if you're depressed. .. and the garbage they dole out does the complete opposite of what they're advertised to do

Yes. But, many have a hard time with it. Not to mention that obesity directly effects the sex drive as well. It's not like the main reason, just another contributing factor.

Sure, I guess, but the point is, why should everyone be subsconsciously forced from a young age to measure themselves against an arbitrary standard of health?
Being THAT muscular isn't really "healthier" in and of itself than just having a normal amount of muscle mass.
Why should everyone have this idea that they need to look like that or else they're not attractive?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not going the "body acceptance" route that like, we should encourage people to embrace being obese. But this is me for example:

Maybe I am wrong, but I consider myself to be pretty healthy. I honestly, sincerely do not believe that simply by putting on more muscle mass and eliminating a few percent more body fat, I would become that much more healthy.
I am pretty confident about the way that I look but I like even guys who are just, you know, skinny and don't have much muscle mass at all, but who are healthy, why should feel insecure about the way they look just because hollywood plasters up these photos of ripped dudes all the time and sends the message: "THIS IS WHAT SEXY LOOKS LIKE"
And don't try to tell me that is an objective understanding of sexy. 100 years ago, being muscular just made people assume you did hard labor for a living, and it was all about being as pale as possible, and 500 years ago fat was sexy because it meant rich.

is it an MAOI? Most antidepressants decrease libido. That actually could be a major contributor, since so many people take them these days, especially young people- I hadn't thought about that.

from what i understand its related to cathinones
Welbutrin
and also, if you get healthy, you WILL look good. it's not exactly a bad thing to encourage.
Healthy IS sexy.
The super skinny dudes and the overweight folks simply aren't healthy. maybe that's why it's not a encouraged body type.
