Bucket hole sizes...
    #23503520 - 08/02/16 09:29 PM (7 years, 5 months ago)

When growing in tall four gallon buckets, whats the smallest you can size the holes for oysters? Quarter inch? I have seen them push under plastic lids and fruit through very small spaces, so I know large holes are not necessary.

I am trying for half pound clusters, not multi-pound monsters I need to cut apart...

It's more times then size of fruit its about controlling the harvest. Smaller holes are harder to clean. Id go with 3/4th inch

The quantity of holes will determine the size of the clusters.

I used to use 1/2 holes with ok results. Too big and they will dry out faster.
