Pain, spams and hashroom

Many years ago I was living in Oregon while having some serious pain issues. My wife was in ungodly pain due to several conditions and had serious muscle wasting and dangerous weight loss (under 100 pounds at 5 foot 9). Doctors were useless becasue you coul dnot get pain control back then. In this period of time, in Oregon, the state government had made it illegal to give prescriptions to pain medication to ANYONE who was not dying of cancer (because your body cares WHY you are in agony). It was a messed up time.
So we (having stumbled onto it by accident) got her involved in a brand new local cannabis buyers club (in the era when they were a new thing, and nothing was legal anywhere). Most of the members were dying of AIDS or Cancer. In her earlier years my wife (before disability) had worked in pharmacy in a cancer treatment center and that is what convinced her that cannabis was a better choice, and it is the only reason she was open to trying it.
So we met Marc & David and Vos of the local CBC, and my wife got introduced to cannabis for pain. I had smoked about 2 times in college. She had done so once (and got very ill - she is one of those people who cannot mix pot with alcohol). It saved her life.
Anyway we wound up going to the Oregon 'Harvest Jam" with a few board members, to find connections for the CBC. I knew the group was keeping my wife alive and I was not about to play around with half way involvement. Back then there was simply no way to provide for a M.C. compassion club and its patients other than the black market, most of them being way to sick to grow for themselves. It was (after al) about 1994.
While at Harvest Jam I found a fellow who had shrooms, and I knew that on of the board members of the local CBC was looking for them because when he was younger he had used them as a serious antispasmodic, but in a way I had never head of.
Then again I I knew almost nothing back then. I grew up in a fundy family in the 70s, as a "straight" surrounded by shroom popping pot smoking teens and their "every weekend "keggers"... but I digress.
Needles to say I had no psychonaut experience, and very little cannabis experience either. The pot was letting me continue to work, and keep the house clean, and care for my (nearly 100% bedridden) wife - and it was all that kept her alive.
The club had also gotten a line on hash oil (ether extraction) which was amazing for her bad pain days.
- yes this is necessary background -
I managed to barter ... trade some Humbolt for some mushrooms. I had always assumed they were Golden Teacher. Now I wonder. Either I am an amazing lightweight ...
Well my first experience was taking ONLY ONE smaller shroom while VERY stoned (humbolt).
I found that I had visuals of a purple fog over everything (on and off) and the necks on the "Star Trek Voyager" Kardashian warriors seems to stretch on forever (and I found this very funny). Life was delightful, and I laughed a lot. It was highly entertaining. I have no idea if I am a lightweight or if they were not cubes, but Psilocybe Subaeruginosa(they were yellow).
** AS FOR THE PAIN, SPASM and SHROOM THING ***
The next day I woke up in no pain at all (it had been years). My legs did not feel like they were on fire. My wife had a few amazing almost pain free days too.
The next time we visited the board of the CBC the guy I mentioned had taken some very finely chopped shrooms, some hash oil and high quality Humbolt bud chopped fine. He had used a Mortar & Pestle, and had created a velvety smooth, dark, ball which he called "Hashroom".
The three of us smoked a little bit. Not all that much even.
I know that smoking shrooms is supposed to kill off most of the hallucinogenic properties. We had no visuals, just a highly uplifted mood, with no more muscle spasms and a lot less pain in general.
Once again, the next day there way no pain. We awoke feeling very refreshed. For a few days our pain levels stayed very very low. It was a very different experience than smoking cannabis, or hash oil, or hash oil enhanced cannabis. It was less "couch lock", with a clearer high and it made people get ungodly horny as a side effect.
I spoke the next year to an ageing hippy I knew (at Country fair). He was there every year. I told him about the experience and he told me that he knew exactly what I was talking about. In his younger years his group of friends indeed smoked a blend of cannabis and shrooms. Our groups experience with it was the same as theirs had been.
A highly uplifting social experience, with all aches and pains gone for a few days after, and a strong aphrodisiac.

Damn bruh, you've been through some tough shit, if you really think the mushrooms are helping maybe start to micro dose every 3 days id say. (0.2-0.6g) this will help A LOT. Also if you take a tab of lsd every week that should also help. Consider growing marijuana and making home made hash? That shit is way more fresh with way better effects as the hash that you had smoked before because some of the things get stuck on people's hands so yeah lol. You can get seeds quite quick. If your pain is as bad as you made it out to be you can get a cannabis card and grow one leagally

Yes well. so is life, and today is not forever.
Yes I have been thinking about "microdosing" on shrooms. My wife an dI both have migrain (hers far worse) and she used to have horrible cluster headaches before we left the city (more on that later).
And no - actually I can't get a card. You see years before it became legal medically in the USA (anywhere) I got a job offer in Australia, where at the time they were very mellow about cannabis use (except in Queensland where they are nazis).
I was OK physically when I moved and so was my wife (or they could not have let us immigrate). There were hundred of hydro shops just in our city, very openly selling gear for growing. The "home brew" shops also sold hydro gear. When I first moved here you could have 9 plants and just get a small fine (in this state).
And then things changed. The Murdoch press filled peoples minds with bullshit about "skunk" and "the evil mutant hydro pot" (as they ate salads where the lettuce was all hydro every day). The cops also got embarrassed at an international cop convention in the USA. They were teased by the US cops... and so the head of the state police went on a rampage to get the laws changed (and succeeded).
Then things changed for us health wise too. A few years down the line we were in the shit again (but worse). By then there was no "10 plant plan" (which had been keeping away organized crime).
There is no legal medical cannabis here, no matter what you might real online.
BUT - on the plus side we do have a REAL financial safety net for the disabled (a;though the conservatives keep working to gut it). We are on disability pensions now. Imagine this - here we are able to BUY an old house in the country while on disability (compare that to the USA). In the USA we would be living under a bridge.
We also get free medical in the public hospitals, and various other medical stuff covered by public Medicare (all of which the conservative keep picking away at - the shit heads).
So although growing is hella illegal here now. They also have forfeiture laws just like the US does (taking peoples homes to get revenue for the state).
And we could not possible survive in the USA now, financially... AND because of widespread fracking.
You see my wife has really bad Multiple Chemical Sensitivity now, so there is no way we could ever move back to the states. I have MCS some, but she gets seizures. And then financially - the tiny amount they pay in the USA on Social Security Disability, on that we would not even be able to afford to eat.
So we are here...in Australia not in Oregon or Washington (places we both used to live in before the law changed. We have been here for 17+ years.

Smoking shrooms isn't a bad idea (I've done it of course) it's just that the smoke is really hard to handle IME. Much prefer tea. But what you describe is different, and if you get relief from it more power to ya, experimentation is where it's at.
