too much water in pf tek jars
    #23501910 - 08/02/16 01:28 PM (7 years, 5 months ago)

Hey folks,

so i have 6 jars which are all about 90% colonized. The only part left is the bottom part.
3 out of the 6 jars have a little bit too much water inside...
Is it a smart idea to flip the jars for a few seconds so that the dry verm layer on top can soak up the water?

Can provide pics if wanted =)

Thanks in advance!

Danny

The dry layer is supposed to stay dry.

mhmm ok :S Could I use a sterile syringe in an sterile enviroment to get the water out or should i just wait and see if it finishes colonizing?

You'll just have to wait. Or pop them out of the jars and remove the uncolonized portion and fruit.

Just leave it....it's just water from the substrate....it looks like way more than it actually is....it's no problem.

Make sure you look at the records of people giving you advice....ratings..,,number of posts....a little condensed water inside a PF tek jar is normal and nothing to worry about..,,even if it is pooling at the bottom....it's just that the cake is shrinking so the water has more room to move around...,your cake will likely finish colonizing just fine and then a week to consolidate..,,then birthing!

What? I told him to wait same as you did. :crazy2: Absolutely nothing wrong with my advise. If it is stalled then he can try to fruit the colonized portion. Number of posts..Pft

Yeah and it looks possibly moldy too. I'd probably not even mess with that bitch.
