Ok here we go, here are three sites that I am using to make an example.

Dry bubble (fungus spot) and Verticillium disease.
Pests and diseases of mushrooms.
Mushroom diseases.

Unclean grow area, under cooking or not working clean.

Everything looked good to me...I thought they started in low light and maybe not the best FAE at the beginning...both cause strange morphologies.  I've never done anything to straw besides soaking in 140-170F water for 1.5 hours tops.  Never had an issue.  How long are you running it?  Over 2 hrs and you start killing the good bacteria you want to leave intact.  OR are you lime pasteurizing?  If so, sorry, I have no experience with that method and can't speed credibly on it.

Straw is contam prone to pretty much everything. Cubensis can grow on straw.
I dont work with it, it sits under grain as #2 in my avoid list.

Try the Lipa + WL Tek, 50/50, works great.
See here for a pine example.

Yeah, I don't like straw, along with all you said, it's really just too unwieldy.  I might come around to WL one day for spawn...and probably wonder why I didn't sooner.

I did a bucket tek with a little lime in it. I put the boiling water in the bucket with straw and closed air tight over night. I know it only requires an hour. And I did use lime but I think I should have used more

Did you use spawn? It may be the spawn was unclean.
