Fanning is somewhat outdated for properly built SGFCs,
You mist when the cakes look dry...mist until the substrate glistens, then repeat when they look dry again.

But fanning won't hurt if you want to do it.
It's important to let your substrate tell you what it needs, and that's going to vary based on the weather and also the state of your SGFC.

Hell yeah....getting 12 pints to colonize together without having stall outs is really good as is! Good job doing the tek right! Enjoy your harvest!

Looks right to me from here. Your perlite looks nice and wet, too. But if it ever dries out, it's going to increase the amount of misting you're going to need to do and only inspecting the perlite and substrate can tell you that. Sticking to a schedule in that case is counterproductive, if you get my meaning.

That's weird I just thought maybe because those spots had strong colonization areas

They don't fruit from strong colonization areas. They fruit where the conditions are best--take a look at a substrate casing. The mycelium will partially colonize it, and what it colonizes is weakly colonized. And then it'll fruit like crazy right where the air and humidity are perfect.

Now that it is pinning, make sure you give it plenty of water. Mushrooms are 90% water by volume. I always find that bottom watering gives my cake pins a good kick in the ass.
You'll be singing hallelujah in a few days bub. Congrats, lookin good!

just put a little saucer of water uner the cake. let it sit there for a couple hours, then put it back on foil. if it is sucking up water, then you can keep it up. if you notice its not sucking any water up, then dont do it for a while. and when i bottom water, i mist WAY less.

i usually do it when most of the pinset is in, and the pins are about 1.5-2in big. so the one cake with the bigger pins could have it done to it now, and probably even the one beside it would be fine. just remember to see if it's taking up any water.. if it is, then it's all good. if not, then stop bottom watering for a while. and dont mist so much when bottom watering.
the biggest reason i like to bottom water is so that 1) the fruits get the water they need, and can get bulked up really well, but also 2) there is a very fine line between misting fruits too much and not letting them get the water they want. if you mist maturing fruits too much, they will have water on them for too long and get bacterial blotch. it is really easy to do, too. which is why i like bottom watering so much.

Sounds like a really good idea and seems logical I guess experiments are the best way to find out I'll do it to some and study the results haha
