B+ Tray Fruiting

Got a b+ tray in fruitin conditions, just started pinning yesterday. I count about 50 or so pins thus far. Hoping to see a lot more in the next day or so.

Heres what was on the bulk block I fruiting a couple days ago. Got about 12g dry on first flush.

This was a little left over from the first batch which I ate this morning. Feeling very good.

After checking again, theres double the amt of pins. The pic of the tray above was less than 6 hours ago.

is it just me or does that sub look a bit dry? Myc looks a bit funky as well. Not enough FAE perhaps. Good luck and enjoy.

Might be a tiny bit dry but thats because I stop misting for a day or two, and then bottom water to boost pin size quickly. Rh is 95%. It could probably use a little more fae but its not terrible either.

I went ahead and started misting again, and will open more holes until rh drops to maybe 90%.

Ok so I'm about to give a diagnosis. Please don't freak out and deny everything like many I've told this to before. That is bacteria. Or rather, the myceliums reaction to bacteria. You can tell because it's thick, matted and rubbery looking. There's no single strands shooting out like normal aerial myc. That doesn't mean this tray is a toss, and the fruits you grow will be edible. This means that you can now identify bacteria, and understand that bacteria will make your substrate much more vacanct for contams, as well as hinder overall yield. Since it's more open for molds, keep your eye on this tray for early molds.
Increase Fae to keep bacteria at bay, and most importantly, you need clean spawn.

I had a feeling it may be slightly bacterial. Ive increased Fae a lot, if i can get at least 2 flushes out of it ill be happy with that.
Thanks for the diag. Will keep my eye on it and post progress in a couple days.

3 Days in from initial pins. Not a huge amount, hopefully I can get a second flush that's a little more, well, full. Bacteria no doubt is affecting yield, just like you said it would.

Also, the other bulk block I have in the chamber appears to be pinning well now. It is more than likely bacterial as well, though perhaps not to the degree of the tray. At any rate, I wanted to take some prints of some of the better looking caps, and tissue clone any monsters in agar (which probably isn't happening this run), and clean it up in agar. Just a little worried about passing on any bacterial infection to my next batch, but if I can get some clean plates I'd like to start a quart grain master, and g2g about 20 more jars I have lined up.
I have a half brick of coir left, as well as a shit ton of verm so next week I'm going to also start working on what I need for Damion5050's coir tek. Since I only have a half brick, the measurements will be reduced by half of course, with 2.5 quarts of rye spawn, in a smaller monotub. Guess I don't need a gigantic one. Hopefully I can get the fucking spawn clean this time.
Any feedback is welcome.

That's as good as you can hope for from semi aggressive bacteria. Good work and keep us posted on that nice little canopy you are about to get tomorrow night

Probably the last pic before harvest. Veils are about at their breaking point. Kinda small, but the buggers are actually pretty potent.

There are just as many small pins popping up as there are fruits in the pic, so I'm hopeful for an even better 2nd flush. I'll snap another pic before and perhaps after harvest.

First time I tripped on my own fresh I scrambled them in an egg. Cooked very lightly on each side before the flip. It was magical.
Enjoy man you deserve it

Picked all the mushies and dried. Got about 50 grams dry from the first flush of this tray. Soaked the tray for about 4 hrs, poured off the excess water, and put back in the chamber. 2nd flush pins already coming in.
In the meantime, while waiting for my trays 2nd flush, I've got a 1st flush bulk block and a 2nd flush cake to look forward to.

Update: So the cake and block came in, and I decided what the hell, and ate them all at once. About 40-50 grams fresh. It was one of the most enjoyable trips I've had to date. My entire body felt like an orgasmic wave anytime I looked at anything remotely interesting. No ego loss at all, though I could not read or even comprehend what words were. These mushies appear to be different from the ones in the tray, the genetics of them are hollow stems (no matter what conditions I give them) mutated and odd looking caps, they grow very aggressively and sop up a shit ton of water, and they also appear to have tiny microscopic crystals (looks a lot like dried pure psilocybin/psilocin, tastes like it too). It isn't mycelium. These are the strongest most potent B+ I've harvested to date, so I've cloned a culture, and also made a print. Waiting to see what I can do with the clone before using any prints I do.
The trays 2nd flush is coming in quite well, and the bacteria doesn't appear to be effecting it to any large degree, except maybe causing the mycelium to produce more than average metabolites. I assume by the end of the 2nd flush I will have to get it out of the tray because of it eating holes through, but if I had to guess, this tray will produce a 3rd and 4th flush no problem unless there are any other problems like mold. I have FAE at the max, so it appears to be holding the semi aggressive bacteria at bay, and preventing contamination from any molds like trich.
Pics to come soon.
