Using spores as ink

Camping and cultivation don't mix. Does anyone know of good methods to collect spores and use them for ink for painting?
Is wiping off with wet paper towels and rinsing into a container with water a good idea? Then maybe letting it evaporate down till its more concentrated?

yeah.... well im suggesting just dry em and put em into chocolate and then they'll be useful. Making a sporewater ink sounds pointless and tedious.
edit: Also OP if you'd want enough spores to make a thick paint and not just some spore water, you'll be needing way more spores than whats in your picture.

The thing about cube spores is they dont really mix with water, they clump up. They might tint the water a little but it wont show up on paper well.
I had the same ink idea before and played around with minimal success. You can wipe the spores off the mushrooms and smear them onto paper but that just looks like shit.
If you wanted to use spores in artwork you could maybe do something with tape and a bunch of mushrooms ready for printing. Using a scalpel and tape you could cut out a stencil and use the printing mushrooms on the parts of the paper uncovered by tape. After the spores dry, remove the tape, and spray the artwork down with some sort of sealer so the spores dont rub off. Umm ta da

That's actually a fantastic idea, Mush. Also, you can use hairspray as a poorman's fixative. I used it successfully for several charcoal pieces I drew.

You could maybe mix the spores with other paint. It'd be cool if you were planning a spiritual painting...to know there are mushroom spores in your painting of a mushroom or other trip art. How cool

What works is wiping off most of the caps with a small amount of wet paper towel And ringing it out into a small bowl when it cant hold any more spores. This was made as a quick test but as you can see spores work as a watercolor black.

That's pretty dope dude!
Maybe you could get clear latex or acrylic (if you can find it) paint and mix your buttload of spores into that.
Good idea either way

Yeah I've known about the dyes derived from mushrooms as my girlfriend has done a bit of tie dye.
Mush 4 brains,Spores definitely mix in the water just fine.
Mysticmotetoter, didn't even need to remove all of the deposited spores on the caps of every mushroom. There was plenty more than would be needed for a decent sized watercolor painting
