Gymnopilus?
    #23499342 - 08/01/16 06:33 PM (7 years, 6 months ago)

Habitat:
I found three mushrooms growing on wood, birch. The forest has birch and
pine tree, but the shrooms grew on the birch.

Gills:
Color: Dark orange, could be light brown as well, attached to the stem. I've provided pictures.

Stem:
Length: 70-80mm, not sure what that is in inches.
Diameter: 7mm
Color: brown.
Texture: solid.

Cap:
Diameter: 50mm
Color: dark orange, almost brown.
Texture: spherical, convex.

Spore print color:
Dark brown

Bruising:
Dark brown.

Other information:
I've found them near my mom and dads hut. I found them north in Norway, couple of days ago. They were open, so the sporeprint is'nt that good...They smell like dirt and a bit
like dried cubensis, just a hint.

Sorry if this is'nt enough info. :/
Hope the BB code for the images works x).

Yes, they appear active.

Looks like Gymnopilus sapineus or G. penetrans or G. luteocarneus.  Needs microscopy.

Not active.

I don't see any green stains, and Gymnopilus from this group doesn't tend to contain psilocin.

I am curious, why do you think that?

Viewing from my desktop there appeared to be greenish hues near the base of the stipe in photo 1. Now viewing from my phone it doesn't seem as strong. I'm not convinced we have sorted out what is and what is not active in the Gymnopilus taxa since most people are not willing to take the risk to find out for themselves.  However Allen is most likely correct in his assertions.
