Pink oyster straw log contam - keep or chuck?

This straw bag pinned nine days after spawning. After a day in the fruiting chamber a fairly large green mold spot became apparent. I spawned some golds from the same co to the exact same batch of straw which is still colonizing with no apparent problems. 1) bets on if the spawn carried the contam or just the nature of the beast? 2) should I pull it from the chamber or let it go? The contam appears to be completely sealed under plastic and the fruit should be ready in a couple days...

I would keep it and dump it after the first flush.
I'd be interested to hear what more experienced growers would do though.

I've had bags go a full 3-4 flushes with spots like that. 9/10 the mushroom growth is stronger than contaminates.

Thanks for the input all! I'll keep an eye on it and post some pics. Might be a good example of a straw bag that can or can't be salvaged during fruiting.

Hey Quad, good observation. I didn't chop the straw per usual as I thought it looked to be pretty short pieces. Turns out I couldn't get the bags properly packed. This has led to a lot of gaps in the sub as well as between the sub and bag leading to a lot of precip which in turn is probably favorable to contamination. The straw drained for several hours so I'm guessing its a result of the longer lengths of straw and loose pack. Lesson is, chop your straw! Also here are a couple pics. These are looking too dry to me as I'm still solving the mister problem but all in all ok (minus the beautiful green patch)

let it go, pinks will keep coming and coming and coming, maybe isolate it in a section outside your main grow room, but dont just waste a producing bag of wonderful pinkys!

Thanks anthiawe, I'll keep an eye on it and maybe put a piece of duct tape over the hole after I harvest that clump. These pinks really have a nice color.

dont leave them on the bags for too long, they will lose their colour (color for you yanks) and get a bit softer.
