pics will help determine. its hard to say without seeing them. i mean, are you trying to fruit them in-vitro, or they are just pinning and you are asking whether you should birth or not?

Lol if you're asking if you should harvest now then there really is no way to tell without a pic

oh gotcha. i actually just did some in-vitro growing as well. it's kinda hardd to spot when they are ready to harvest. but basically, when you notice the stop growing, it is time haha..
are you fruiting it with the lid still on, or something more like this:

if it's like that, then youll be able to tel when to harvest. if it's just fruiting in the jar with the lid on, it's a little harder to tell. and stuff like this can happen:

haha.. either way, good luck, dude!
but agreed, a pic will help us help you.

yeah, why would you toss it? it's just in the verm layer, which we cover all of our cakes with anyways..
if you are raelly worried about it, then post some pics. we cant really tell you that much without seeing them..

You're welcome to go there if you don't want to answer my question. What about the verm, makes you think you can't eat the mushroom growing on it? People eat mushrooms that grow from shit outside all the time. What about that question was not nice, for that matter? Are you that sensitive that a question about your thought process makes you feel like "this place is mean"?
Toss your mushrooms because they grew on the verm then, nevermind that it's a primary ingredient of most bulk substrate mixes and is kind of the whole point of rolling a cake in verm... I'll just be over here crying softly to myself that this is what the world has come to.

just the overall feel of elitism on this forum, getting talked down to. It turns alot of potential hobbyists away from contributing.

ummm you pick them when there bulging every where when lids on for first flush or you just remove lid and let them stretch out the top. And pick after veil breaks. They should have plenty of moisture for flush one so no need to rush to a dunk prematurely.

I'm sorry but I've never been talked up to by a teacher... Why do you feel the need for someone who is teaching to talk up to you instead of down? I've seen many new people come in and contribute.. If you can't even be asked why you think something is a certain way, how do you expect to be criticized? Which is what happens when you contribute..
