Just double checking...

Is it perfectly acceptable to do a Grain to WBS transfer? The only place I can get grain is online so I'm switching to WBS from TSC.
With that being said, anybody have a best brand of WBS from TSC they use? My TSC is closer than Walmart so I will just go there.
Also, I'm trying to seek guidance on the best WBS prep TEK. For grains I always used roger rabbits (thank you RR), and it hasn't failed me yet, but this will be my first time with grain.
I'm going to be transferring my grains that I made from clone so I really don't want to mess it up, but it's time to get it started.
Thanks for the help my fellow cultivators

Poor Inocuole
Please excuse him OP. His mind's ability to interact with 'non-searchers' has greatly diminished this past week.
We are unsure if we will ever get him back. The 'non-searchers' have just about taken every ounce of life and patience he has left... He typed that response from the Shroomery's Intensive Care Unit. -_-
Yes. You can do a Grain to Grain transfer.... Search "Grain to Grain"..
Get a WBS that is not treated.
IME, I do not like WBS with cracked corn. But others do. It's preference.
Search for "WBS"...

Foomans wbs tek is a good one, simplest. Wbs will be more dirty than livestock feed btw.

Well I always do G2G....but it was with the same types of grains that is currently colonized. Yeah, looking back it was a pretty dumb question. And I always search everything, but when looked up grain to wbs I kept getting grain VS wbs and stuff like that. When I looked up best WBS, there was a lot of different opinions and most talked about their seed they get from Wal-mart so I figured I would ask here for people that shop at TSC. I really don't care if people are a dick, it just shows their level of commitment to helping others, but I'm pretty sure inocuole has given me some sound advice on a couple of my threads, so it's all good lol. Some other people however, will just troll and not help out...but I definitely always UTSF before asking. I've also seen a few WBS teks that people recommend and other people don't like them or say that they love cracked corn and just not sun flower seeds, others say no cracked corn, etc. So I figured I would try to get a general consensus real quick. Also, when you recommend millet, are you talking about millet by itself, or WBS that has millet in it. I'll check out the Foomans WBS tek also. Thanks you guys!
On a side note: I just made my first pound of cubensis (B+)....it is a great feeling. A couple of the shrooms ended up weighing 4 grams dried lol. I was like HELL YEAH!! I got 38 dried grams out of 13 shrooms, it was awesome .

as you may have noticed there's little general consensus when it comes to grain choice, just pick whatever is cheapest and most easily available for you.
all seeds/grains can be g2g'd to each other. wbs to rye to wheat, brf to wheat, rye, milo to wbr, your choice

Price should never be the main consideration when choosing grain for spawn...

It is if you're completely broke!!!
J/k
I agree that spawn should be chosen for characteristics other than just the price tag.

Why, they all work. If you can't get them to work there's something wrong on the operator end. I've never seen someone reliably pull even 2oz/qt of any spawn to bulk substrate. Pick what's cheap and available.
At 12$ for 50# oats beat out rye by a long shot. Especially in easy availability let alone price

lol, of course it should. grain choice makes no difference in end results anyway.

If I had a choice between a free 50lb bag of popcorn and a free 50lb bag of WBS - I think I would choose the WBS over the popcorn.
I think personal preference and familiarity come into play with cultivator's choices over spawn.
Possibly species related as well?

Can I come back in if I behave? Haha
I will say that we have had faster colonization times with rye than with WBS somewhat consistently over the past few weeks.... (Oysters) Maybe 15% faster over the former? I'd have to check our logs to get exact data... that might be worth posting? Might be a fluke though...so many variables with the mushies...

That would be you, sir.
Yes, any cereal grain can work. But that doesn't mean they are all equal. I feel the fresher the grain, the better. If my favorite was rye, but it's been 6 months since rye has been harvested, i may opt to get, say, corn, if it was more recently harvested, even though I consider rye to be superior to corn. All I'm saying is, price should not be the one determining factor. Should it be a factor? Of course. But there are many factors
