Do the seeds dry onto the plant, or will I have to tie a paper bag onto them after the flower dies off? Any info would be appreciated. I'm a total noob to coleus, but am kinda thinking about going ham on them next year, haha. It's the only plant I grow that has no use besides looking amazing. Well, I have a begonia basket too, but whatever.

I'm too tired to explain how to collect seeds, but this link will tell you how to do it
http://homeguides.sfgate.com/save-coleus-flower-seeds-65371.html
Yeah,I stopped collecting houseplants, and any plants that only serve as aesthetically pleasing. I do have a couple of houseplants that I'll bring in for the winter though, but other than that,if I can't eat it,fruits and veggies,or smoke it,like in the case of Cannabis,I have no use for plants that just sit and take up valuable space,no matter how beautiful they may be,minus my coleus, and flower garden,of course, because that stuff will die back, and I don't have to lug it all in for the winter.

This is one of those plants like Klip Dagga,Calea Passion Flower,Wild Lettuce, etc, that people say have psychoactive properties, and can get you high, when they absolutely do not.
It's just a beautiful psychedelic looking plant to stare at. Other than that it has no use as a drug, medicine or food.

This cultivar is called Saturn. I got this one when it was a bit sickly, and each picture shows the progression it made, now a healthy plant thanks to fox farms soil/nutes and some love.

Very nice! You are definitely doing something right. I think an actual controlled experiment on clones to figure out all the determining factors of color would be interesting. Personally I think that good direct light early in the day/morning and a good amount of nutes especially N in the soil is important. A few of mine have lost some color, I'm not sure why but I did move them so possibly light.
Burk, that seaweed and GA is crazy as well, I can't find any of the cool varietys, rosy dawn gardens has all types listed but are out of stock of every single thing, ano good local nurserysThe only different looking variety I have is the kiwi fern

Yes, nitrogen is key to keeping them lush and colorful, at least that's my experience with them. Some cultivars require nothing but shade, others shade filtered light, some can stay colorful in full sun.
I have this book, and if you're serious about Coleus, I recommend buying it, it's amazing.

I need this book!
I would like to also add that Coleus performs best under fluorescent lighting, and it's vibrant colors are really brought out under it!
There are also coleus that prefer shade, some that prefer sun,and some that will only show their true colors in filtered light.
My seed grown ones are sun loving, but when I put them out in the sun,it faded them out and nearly killed them.
Now,they are in mostly shade with filtered light, and are doing better, but the colors are dull, and not vibrant like they should be.
This summer is too hot,and with the depletion of the ozone layer,it's only going to get hotter.
This being said,I have never had a problem growing nay type of Coleus until this season

Oh man,I just went out to look at all my Coleus, and they are wilted beyond belief!
I trimmed up my Crape Myrtle at the bottom, and it let the sun hit them all directly.
I reckon they will either adapt,or die.
I'm getting to where I'm sick of all the gardening problems I'm having this year

They are tough plants, hopefully they shape up for you. Mine were wilted bad this morning, hot and thirsty. Now that I'm injured and down an arm the wife has been helping which is nice.

Slipped at work, feet came out sideways arm got caught on a stainless steel table pulling it up over my head and shoulder out of socket, after twisting on with no luck had to put me under to get it back in I can't even unlock the padlock on the shed, very humbling.
Keep me updated on the plants.
