Sober and high reality come with different evaluations of our life, and when we get accustomed to one or the other, that evaluation we aren't used to gets weighed upon using the bias we've come to live with. That inevitably leads to an adjustment period where we recognize the impartiality needed for those states to coexist without excess 'friction.' What I'm saying is, maybe your decision making process hasn't changed at all, but rather it's your perception that has changed. Whether or not that is beneficial is up to you.
No one is prepared for life, just some are here and willing to take it in stride. Just the other day it finally sunk in what it means to be 25 now, things have slipped past me because I've been too busy not considering what my time means. Now that I have again realized this, I can focus on making the most of it. No matter what I do though, I'm sure I'll wake up in another 5 years and wonder how it slipped past me even faster.

How did you get a DUI if you made it home before the cops showed up?

Because a van I almost hit followed me home and reported me, I knew they called the cops so I just sat in the car and waited, 4 cruisers showed up because I guess I was such a threat to society.

Yes, that I am aware of and is a terrifying thought. I'm coming to accept it for what it is, trying to at least

Thats bad - that you sat in the car until the cops showed up, unless the follower was filming you, you could have went into your house and denied ever having driven that night.

I have no answers I'm just glad I'm not shooting up anymore
I tried seeing a psych today and she took my $80 and then basically told me she couldn't help me and I needed to see a drug addiction specialist.
I don't have the money to play doctor roulette, and neither do my parents... I'm thinking clinical help isn't for me.
Weed seems to solve most of my current quelms with life though for what it's worth

I'm also glad you're not shooting up man people in my town are getting hooked on that recently, people OD'ing and dropping like flies. doctors are terrible anymore they just try to prescribe SSRI's, id rather die than be on those. I agree clinical help is bullshit these days, psychedelics really saved me in that aspect, helped put life into perspective. Just remember you cant always use substances as a crutch, I've been there. stay safe brotha

Go to church.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Psalm 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Investigating the spaces in between the thoughts is always helpful. Peer into your heart and ask yourself if you're really listening to it. Just carry that with you, to know that the compass in the middle of your chest is going to guide you truer north than any bobbing magnet could.
You don't owe it to anyone to be where you are in life: the choice is up to you. Do you choose to stay where you are and grow from all of it, or do you choose to take the open road which is always available, to change and find a new direction? Maybe there's a reason why you have found these new aspects of your life, and if they are good for you then please enjoy them! Live it up!
Try not to think of everything like it's going to last forever, because nothing does. We only have this present moment right now, which has just slipped away after typing this, after your eyes have crossed over these words, into a new now, so just be here for it. If you feel like making a change, then make it, it doesn't have to be some ultimatum on your whole life.

Very true, thank you for your answer. I always took that thought into consideration just accepting it is difficult in some situations, looking back I'm glad everything that happened did happen, I don't believe in fate but everything does end up happening for a reason
