Most of my collection is obscure bootleg reissues of virtually unknown bands. I doubt it will ever be worth anything, but I enjoy it a lot. A lot of this stuff you can't even pirate because it's only ever been available on vinyl and no one has ever bothered to rip it.

That's exactly what my record collection is, at least mostly. Just ultra obscure stuff that isn't worth much, even to collectors. But this is a thread for rare vinyl, not valuable vinyl, so here are some of my weirder 7" records.
This first one is a set of three records, they're the soundtrack to a movie that doesn't seem to exist. In the middle panel, you can see that it's #325/526. Cool artwork on the trifold case:

It comes with a little comic book about the phantom movie:

I somehow ended up with doubles of this one:

Here's an assortment of obscure French and German records. The one on the bottom left is numbered 077/523:

This one here is cool. The sleeve is made of a starched fabric, with a stenciled on logo. It's stapled together, and stapled to it is a photograph. I've seen pix of other people's copy of this; they're all kinds of different fabric sleeves, and every photo is different. Someone homemade these, and put a lot of work into making each one unique. Comes with two inserts, very German. On the actual record, you can see it's numbered 167/315:

That's all really cool stuff. I love the comic! Wonder what happened to the movie.
I'm too lazy to take pictures of my stuff right now, but here's some of the ones I have: Brain Police, Aguaturbia, Kak, Velvet Fogg, Bubble Puppy, Bump, The Afterglow, etc. Maybe I might try to take some pictures later.

Ha, I just read the only article I could find on it. The soundtrack is tangible; the movie itself is not. It's supposed to be created through the music & art in the listener's mind.
In looking into that, I remembered that I have another soundtrack released by the parent label of the fake movie. Looked into it, and this one is to a real film called 'Lebenspornografie' (or Life Pornography). This one is a 12", comes with a poster for the movie's OST, and an insert. Hand numbered 216/294:

If you get a chance, definitely do throw some of that stuff up here. I'm not familiar with any of it, but this is a rare vinyl thread, and it needs some actual rare vinyl.

Do I detect a note of disappointment here? I'll have to dig deeper and see what I can come up with. Thanks for your posts though. That's some cool shit!

Now for a few from the storage bins in the basement.
Some favorites from this bin and a couple rare 45's

I should take em all out this winter, clean em and take pics, I have a sizable collection. Some reel to reel stuff somewhere too, just not in that top bin.

Here's a 10" picture disk, remixes of Marilyn Manson's 'The Beautiful People':

Limited edition red clear vinyl release of Goblin's 'Dawn of the Dead' OST:

I doubt that this one is rare, but it's one of my favorite soundtracks, and I love the sleeve art:

Yeah, I talked about that earlier in this thread. It's the "butcher cover" of the album 'Yesterday and Today'. And they're just plastic dolls, not real babies.

Burke has posted some awesome shit! I wish I could match some of the stuff you're sharing. I've got some soundtracks I'll look though but for now here's the Andy Warhol cover of Sticky Fingers with working zipper.

Is there anyone on here who distributes LP's or EP's at all? Specifically underground metal or anything?

Dude awesome thread idea!!
I love vinyl and have quite a few but these are my most prized and rare:
The Beatles "yesterday and today" trunk cover album.

This vinyl is one of the most controversial and rare vinyls of all time. If you do not know the story behind this record, deemed the butcher album, then I highly suggest you research the story.
I will give some minor details real quick. The original album cover featured the beatles wearing lab coats and covered in raw meat and baby doll parts. It was deemed inappropriate for worldwide audiences and the original album cover was recalled. The original albums were taken back to the plant and a new cover, deemed the trunk cover, was pasted over the original butcher album cover and re released.
For reference here is what the original album cover looked like before the trunk album cover was pasted over it:

Copies that were not given back to the plant and that still have the original, untampered butcher album cover are called stage 1 copies. Stage 2 copies are copies that had the trunk album cover glued over the original and are unpeeled. Stage 3 copies are copies that have had the trunk cover peeled to reveal the butcher album cover underneath.
Mine is a stage 2 in less than mint condition. A stage 2 in mint can go for 2k easy. A stage 1 prior to the recall is worth well more. A stage 3 is still worth some good money but not as much.
This album is one of my prized possessions!
This is Mom's Apple Pie's album by the same name:
As you can see I have 2 copies. The copy on the left is the original and was recalled after being deemed too inappropriate for American shelves and the copy on the right is the re print after the recall.
Here are closeups of both so you can clearly see why it was recalled
Original copy:

Recalled version:

You can see why they recalled it now, I am sure haha
