You need to disinfect that I see white pus and red inflammation around the wounds
Isopropyl alcohol n hydrogen peroxide can be both proquired at the store
Soap n petroleum jelly isn't gonna cut it
Most medical advice in the pub is laughable at best when it's genuine.
EDIT: unlike your advice, and my advice along with a couple others (?)

coconut oil is also somewhat effective as a topical antibiotic, and raw honey has some validity, as well.
TEA TREE OIL, BRAH

OP, don't listen to these wooks, use an american made antiseptic after disinfecting/washing the area (lightly scrub, don't be a bitch), then wrap in sterile cotton, it really is that fucking easy.

dude, i've had some nasty, fucked up injuries over the years and never had an infection. tea tree oil, warm water/salt, and triple antibiotic are all that is needed. peroxide has its place, but as a person who has skin reactions to it, i don't openly recommend it

I will vouch for tea tree oil
Its a antibiotic
I've used it in antifungal soaps for whenever I had ringworm
Suff works
But in a situation like this I think Isopropyl is a much stronger and cheaper more effective treatment

*antiseptic
isopropyl is definitely cheaper/more readily available, but i disagree with it being as/more effective

You shouldn't be using H2O2 anymore. Its good for cleaning and disinfecting the wound right after injury, but it does cause tissue damage and will slow the healing process.
TBH, You shouldn't be disinfecting an older wound at all, unless you are cleaning it out. Alcohol, iodine and peoxide (especially) kill your own cells as well as microbes. Those dead cells become a good medium for growth of bacteria. Best to clean gently with soap and water once a day, and keep it wrapped up with a coating of neosporin.

I've seen super glue work wonders on cuts.
I think he just needs the penicillin though.
I saw a beautiful girl at a festival fall off a cliff, smash head first into a rock, she was all sorts of fucked up. Her campsite just superglued her face up. You can't even tell now.
I told her she was retarded and should go to the hospital.....but no girl is gonna leave her hula hoop, you know.
that's ridiculous man

Okay, well you're an adult and you don't need any further assistance with a cut like this. It'll be gone soon and you're going to be fine.

Do you not keep 2 litre bottles of water in the freezer on standby for such weather?
Frozen bottles of water can have many purposes and take a surprisingly long time to melt, even in hot weather.
